A client logs on at 8 pm because that's the only quiet hour they get. They've been putting this off for months. The person on the other end of that call needs to know what they're doing — not just credentialed, but genuinely good at this work. That's who we're trying to find for our
Virtual Counselor position: a licensed clinician ready to build a caseload from home and do it well.
Full-time, fully remote, $110,000 a year. You'll manage your own clients, choose your methods within evidence-based frameworks, and answer to a team that actually reads your notes and shows up for consults — not one that just checks a compliance box once a quarter.
The Work Itself
Sessions are the center of the job, but they're not the whole job. Some weeks lean heavier on documentation than others. Crisis situations don't follow a schedule.
- Run individual counseling sessions by video or phone, adapting your approach to whoever's in front of you
- Write and revise treatment plans as clients move forward — or stall out
- Handle crisis calls with a clear head and within your license's scope
- Keep clinical notes accurate and on time, because sloppy records hurt clients and the practice both
- Sit in on case consultations when a client's situation needs more than one perspective
- Keep your own skills current — telehealth rules shift, and so does the research
What You Need Coming In
A master's degree is the floor here, not the whole picture. So is licensure.
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, clinical social work, or something adjacent
- An active clinical license — LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent — in at least one U.S. state, no lapses
- At least 2 years of counseling experience after licensure; telehealth experience helps but isn't required
- You know your way around a telehealth platform and don't need hand-holding on secure messaging or e-notes
- You can build trust with a stranger through a screen faster than most people can in person
- You stay calm when a session turns into a crisis, and you know when to escalate
None of the following are dealbreakers if you don't have them, but they'll move your application to the top of the pile: a certification in a specific modality like CBT or DBT, experience with a particular population such as teens or couples, or fluency in a second language.
Why People Stick Around
Clinician burnout is usually a caseload problem dressed up as a personality problem. We keep caseloads manageable on purpose, and nobody here handles a crisis call solo — there's always someone to loop in. Naukri Mitra brought this listing to candidates who want serious clinical work without sacrificing flexibility, and that's exactly the trade we're offering.
What's In It for You
Salary is $110,000 annually. Beyond that:
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage that doesn't require a decoder ring to understand
- Paid time off, plus separate mental health days — because irony matters here
- A stipend to set up your home office properly
- Reimbursement for continuing education and license renewal costs
- Scheduling flexibility that applies to your life, not just your clients' emergencies
- An employee assistance program, because clinicians need support too
How the Team Runs
We meet regularly, but not to hover. It's for consults, for debriefing a hard case, for catching problems before they become bigger ones. Supervisors answer messages. Peer consultation is built into the week, not squeezed in when someone has a free moment.
Our client base spans the U.S. and extends internationally, so we're building a clinical team to match — licensed professionals based in the U.S. and abroad, including Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, and India, provided they meet the U.S. licensure requirements this role requires.
Applying
Send a resume and a short cover letter — tell us about your clinical background and the kind of client work that actually pulls you in. We read applications as they come in and reach out directly when something looks like a fit. No form letters, no long silences.
