Remote Music Producer

📍 Anywhere 🏷️ Media & Content Creation 💰 $130,000 / year
A track lives or dies in the production choices most listeners never consciously notice — the reverb tail that makes a vocal feel close, the low-end that hits right without muddying everything above it. We're hiring a Remote Music Producer to make those calls across pop, cinematic, electronic, hip hop, and ambient work, fully remote, for clients spanning film, gaming, and streaming.

Role Snapshot

This position pays $130,000 annually and is open to producers based in the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, India, and other regions we hire into globally. You'll take projects from a rough concept through to a finished, release-ready track.

What You'd Be Producing

Projects arrive from different places — a film studio needing a score that hits an emotional beat exactly right, an indie artist with a half-finished demo, a game studio needing an interactive soundscape. Your job is turning all of it into something polished and specific to the project.
  • Compose original music across a range of genres, adapting your approach to what each project actually needs.
  • Build out arrangements that blend instrumentation, vocals, and sound design into a cohesive whole.
  • Direct remote recording sessions with vocalists and instrumentalists to capture performances that feel genuine.
  • Handle mixing, mastering, and effects processing from rough demo through final delivery.
  • Design original sonic textures suited to film, podcasting, streaming, or interactive media.
  • Work directly with artists, directors, and content creators to keep the music aligned with the broader vision.
  • Run collaborative sessions and revision rounds without losing the core idea along the way.

Experience and Background

Formal education requirements are minimal — a High school diploma or equivalent covers the baseline — but you'll need roughly 3 years producing music professionally, with a portfolio of released work that actually proves it.

What Matters Most Here

Technical fluency across DAWs and plug-ins is table stakes; what separates a strong producer is judgment — knowing when a track needs more space, when a vocal take is the one, when to stop tweaking and call something finished. You should be confident enough in your ear to make decisive calls while still staying open to feedback that pushes a project in a better direction than it started.

Nice to Have

  • Background in sound design or scoring specifically for film, games, or other visual media.
  • Familiarity with sync licensing, publishing rights, or digital distribution platforms.
  • Experience producing for virtual concerts, AR/VR projects, or interactive game audio.
  • A track record working on multicultural or genre-blending projects.

Your Production Stack

  • DAWs including Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, and Cubase.
  • Collaboration tools such as Splice, Audiomovers, Zoom, and Frame.io.
  • Plug-ins and libraries from Native Instruments Komplete, Waves, Omnisphere, iZotope, Serum, and Soundtoys.
  • Cloud storage and project tracking through Dropbox, Asana, and Trello.

How This Studio Operates

Work happens wherever your setup lets you focus — a home studio, a quiet corner of a café, wherever the sound actually comes together for you. Weekly creative huddles and live virtual jam sessions keep the team connected despite the distance, and feedback often feels more like a band trading ideas than a formal review process. Producers who found this role through Naukri Mitra should know the genre-blending mentioned here is real — projects regularly cross into territory that doesn't fit neatly into one category.

Benefits

  • Flexible scheduling across time zones, with real control over when and where you work.
  • Health coverage and paid time off.
  • Access to masterclasses, industry summits, and periodic gear upgrades.
  • Room to pitch and pursue passion projects alongside your regular workload.

Where This Can Lead

Producers here tend to grow into mentoring roles through an internal artist-in-residence program, co-creating with international artists, or eventually directing larger collaborative projects. As the studio's catalog grows, so does the range of work available to take on.

Why This Work Is Worth Doing

A well-produced track can carry a film's emotional weight, launch an independent artist's career, or make a game world feel genuinely immersive. That's the actual stake behind the technical work — production choices that most people will never consciously notice, but will absolutely feel.
