Remote Embedded Systems QA Engineer

Bring Innovation to Life—From Anywhere

Imagine working with a team where your ideas aren't just welcomed but necessary, where firmware testing isn't just a checklist, but a creative challenge. As a Remote Embedded Systems QA Engineer earning $100,000 annually, you’ll join a fast-moving innovation hub dedicated to reimagining how embedded devices shape industries. From aerospace tech to innovative consumer products, you'll help assure cutting-edge embedded systems' reliability, safety, and scalability without ever leaving your home office. We began with a spark: rethinking how deeply integrated software interacts with hardware in the real world. We're scaling that spark across projects, redefining what "smart" can mean—from autonomous drones to mission-critical control systems. Every keystroke you make in our QA framework adds value to someone's safety, comfort, or connectivity.

What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities That Matter

Evaluate and Enhance Embedded System Reliability

  • Perform manual and automated testing of real-time embedded systems
  • Create dynamic test plans based on functional specs and system architecture
  • Conduct fault injection, regression, stress, and boundary testing on firmware components

Collaborate in the Product Lifecycle

  • Work alongside hardware and software teams from prototype to production
  • Review design documents to identify potential testing bottlenecks early
  • Contribute to firmware version control, release processes, and post-release evaluations

⚖️ Define and Implement QA Standards

  • Establish system-level test frameworks for safety-critical applications
  • Continuously refine test coverage metrics and benchmarks
  • Recommend QA improvements based on industry trends and testing outcomes

Your Work Environment: Empowered, Remote, and High-Tech

You won't just be testing from home but shaping ecosystems from a creative digital workspace. We operate in a fully remote setup built on autonomy, accountability, and agility. Daily standups and collaborative whiteboarding sessions happen over real-time platforms like Miro and Notion. Feedback is constant, constructive, and integral to our flow. Expect a rhythm that blends deep focus with curiosity-driven collaboration. Whether you're reverse-engineering an interrupt-handling routine or debugging an I2C driver, you’ll always have the support of brilliant minds across engineering, design, and product strategy.

Tools and Technology: Where Firmware Meets Ingenuity

You’ll wield a toolbox optimized for innovation:
  • Real-time debugging with JTAG, SWD, and trace tools
  • Embedded OS environments like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, and Embedded Linux
  • CI/CD pipelines tailored for cross-compiled codebases
  • Test automation using Python, Robot Framework, and custom scripts
  • Version control with Git and code reviews via Gerrit or GitLab
Every tool we use has been selected to make testing embedded software less painful and more productive.

What You Bring: Expertise Meets Imagination

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems QA (3+ years preferred)
  • Strong understanding of microcontrollers, firmware architecture, and hardware interfaces (SPI, UART, CAN, etc.)
  • Solid grasp of C/C++ debugging techniques
  • Familiarity with HIL testing setups and embedded QA methodologies

Bonus Points

  • Exposure to automotive, aerospace, or med-tech compliance standards
  • Experience in scripting automated test suites
  • Curiosity about edge computing, IoT security, and sensor-driven analytics

Why This Role Is Different: Your Work Touches Real-World Systems

This is not just another software QA job. You’re not testing websites or apps—you’re ensuring the functional integrity of devices that live in cars, fly in the sky, or automate factories. The bugs you catch could save lives, and your feedback will directly inform product decisions. It’s QA with high stakes, meaningful impact, and constant evolution. Your work will contribute to real-world innovations like:
  • Autonomous navigation platforms
  • Smart home hubs and industrial control units
  • Wearable medical monitoring systems

Ready to Test the Future?

If you love the intricacy of embedded tech and the thrill of discovering the unexpected, we want to hear from you. We’re building more than software—we’re shaping what’s next in the physical-digital world.
