Virtual Wellness Nutritionist

📍 Anywhere 🏷️ Work From Home 💰 $92,500 / year
Someone asks what snacks to pack for a road trip. Someone else texts to say they finally stuck to their plan this week. Both messages matter, and figuring out how to respond to each one well is most of the job. We're hiring a Virtual Wellness Nutritionist to guide clients through exactly that mix — practical questions and the quieter emotional stuff underneath them.

The Basics

$92,500 a year, entirely remote. You'll work with a rotating caseload of clients — busy professionals, new parents, athletes, retirees — over video calls, messaging, and a shared tracking platform.

What Fills Your Day

Mornings usually start with client check-ins — a question about road trip snacks, a small win worth celebrating. From there, the day shifts between structured sessions and quick, informal support.
  • Reviewing client messages and responding to questions between scheduled sessions
  • Running virtual consultations focused on realistic, sustainable meal planning
  • Sending quick follow-up support to keep clients on track between calls
  • Adjusting plans based on how a client's actual week went, not how it was supposed to go
  • Explaining nutrition concepts — macronutrient balance, plant-based eating, portion sense — in plain, everyday language
  • Staying current on nutrition research and telehealth practices through ongoing learning

What You'll Need

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience: At least 1 year in nutrition coaching, wellness counseling, or a related field
  • Genuine empathy — the ability to hear "I've been stress eating again" without judgment
  • Comfort with telehealth platforms, tracking apps, and video calls
  • Ability to adapt your approach client to client; some need firm structure, others need encouragement
  • Clear, warm communication that doesn't lean on clinical jargon
  • Enough steadiness to stay positive with clients on harder weeks without sounding forced about it

Where Experience Helps

  • Certification in nutrition coaching, wellness coaching, or a related credential
  • A specialty — plant-based nutrition, weight management support, sports nutrition, or similar
  • Comfortable moving between very different client situations — a stressed new parent one call, a competitive athlete the next
  • Comfort collaborating with other coaches on trickier client situations

What This Actually Looks Like in Practice

A client who can't stop late-night snacking doesn't always need a stricter meal plan. Sometimes the real issue is something else entirely — loneliness after the kids go to bed, boredom, stress that has nowhere else to go. A good nutritionist asks about the actual evening routine before jumping to food rules, and sometimes the fix ends up being smaller and less food-related than expected: a cup of tea, five minutes of journaling, something to fill the same slot differently.

How the Team Supports Each Other

Nobody figures out every tricky case alone. Naukri Mitra built this listing with that kind of peer support in mind — weekly team touchpoints where coaches trade strategies, plus access to a shared library of guides and research, so nobody starts from scratch in an unfamiliar situation.

What Comes With the Role

  • Fully remote work with a schedule built around your own rhythm
  • Support toward relevant certifications and specializations
  • Regular team check-ins and casual wellness challenges to keep remote work from feeling isolating
  • Room to develop a specialty over time rather than staying generalist indefinitely

Who Tends to Do Well Here

The strongest fit isn't necessarily the most credentialed nutrition expert in the room. It's someone who genuinely enjoys the back-and-forth of coaching — asking a good follow-up question, noticing when someone needs tough love versus encouragement, and staying curious about a client's actual life instead of applying the same template to everyone.

Why the Ripple Effect Matters

Change with one client rarely stays contained to just them. A parent who starts cooking differently also changes what their kids eat. A friend notices a shift in someone's energy and asks what changed. The work here rarely stops at the person directly in front of you.

Eligibility

This role is open to candidates in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the EU, Australia, and India, as well as a number of other approved regions.

How to Apply

Send your resume along with any relevant certifications and a short note on your coaching philosophy — how you typically handle a client who's stuck or discouraged. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to walk through a sample client scenario during a final conversation.
