We need someone to own our supply chain end-to-end: procurement, production planning, logistics, inventory. Fully remote. $90,000 a year. If a shipment is late or a vendor drops the ball, this is the person who catches it first.
The Role
Sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, scheduling production, getting finished goods out the door — all of it runs through this position. Nothing in a supply chain sits alone. A delayed shipment from one supplier pushes back a production run, which pushes back a delivery date, which lands on a customer's desk as a complaint. Part of this job is stopping that chain reaction before it starts.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage suppliers, and negotiate contracts that hold up.
- Set production schedules based on actual demand data.
- Handle logistics: carrier contracts, delivery routes, shipment tracking.
- Track inventory in our supply chain software. Overstock ties up cash; understock loses sales.
- Watch for risk — supplier delays, port slowdowns, material price spikes — and act on it early.
- Find real cost savings. Not the kind that shows up as a quality complaint two months later.
- Audit vendors against contract and compliance standards on a regular cycle.
- Build monthly reports on delivery times, cost trends, and inventory turnover for leadership.
- Check in with sales, finance, and customer service so nobody is caught off guard by a change in the supply chain.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree, minimum requirement.
- 3 years in supply chain, logistics, or a directly related role.
- A working understanding of the full process — procurement through inventory — not just one part of it.
- Daily comfort in ERP or supply chain management software.
- Ability to pull a decision out of a spreadsheet, not just a summary.
- Negotiation skills that hold up under pushback from vendors.
- Writing and speaking that don't need three rounds of clarification.
- A history of managing your own schedule well, since nobody here is watching over your shoulder.
