We're hiring a Remote Government Relations Specialist to be that person for our organization — fully remote, $80,085 a year.
What This Role Covers
You'll sit at the interface between our organization and government stakeholders whose decisions affect how we operate. That means tracking legislation before it becomes a problem, building real relationships with agencies and legislative staff, and translating dense policy language into something leadership can actually act on.
Some of the work is analytical — reading regulatory updates and flagging risks early. A good amount of it is relational — the kind of trust you build slowly, meeting by meeting, that ends up mattering more than any single memo.
Core Responsibilities
- Track state and federal legislation that could affect our services or industry.
- Analyze regulatory changes and produce clear, concise policy briefings for leadership.
- Design and execute advocacy and lobbying strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
- Build coalition support among stakeholders for major policy initiatives.
- Draft issue briefs, position statements, and white papers.
- Represent the organization in virtual policy forums, hearings, and committee meetings.
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal lobbying regulations, including accurate disclosure filings.
- Work with legal and regulatory advisors to identify and reduce compliance risk.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in legislative affairs, government relations, or policy advocacy.
- Solid understanding of how policymaking works across multiple levels of government.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — this role runs on both.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines and stakeholders in a remote setting.
