Corporate Communications Specialist (Remote)

Location: Remote Annual Salary: $85,346 Position Overview: We seek a highly skilled and motivated Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is pivotal in managing and enhancing our corporate communications strategy, ensuring consistent messaging, and building strong internal and external relationships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in corporate communications, excellent writing skills, and the ability to navigate complex organizational environments easily. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Communication Planning:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with corporate goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to craft and execute communication plans that support organizational initiatives and enhance corporate reputation.
    • Monitor and analyze communication trends and industry best practices to continuously improve strategies and tactics.
  2. Content Creation and Management:
    • Create high-quality written content for various platforms, including press releases, executive speeches, internal newsletters, and corporate reports.
    • Oversee the production of communication materials, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and messaging.
    • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to corporate guidelines.
  3. Media Relations:
    • Build relationships with media contacts and industry influencers to secure positive media coverage.
    • Manage media inquiries and coordinate interviews, press conferences, and other media-related activities.
    • Prepare media kits, press releases, and other materials for media outreach.
  4. Internal Communications:
    • Develop and manage internal communication channels to keep employees informed and engaged.
    • Craft messages and updates for internal audiences, including company-wide announcements and employee recognition programs.
    • Work closely with HR and other departments to address internal communication needs and support organizational culture.
  5. Crisis Communication:
    • Assist in the development of crisis communication plans and protocols.
    • Support during crises, including drafting statements, managing messaging, and coordinating with key stakeholders.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of crisis communication efforts and recommend improvements.
  6. Brand Management:
    • Ensure all communications align with and reinforce the company’s brand identity and values.
    • Monitor brand perception and address any discrepancies or issues in messaging.
    • Support brand campaigns and initiatives through strategic communication efforts.
  7. Reporting and Analytics:
    • Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics using various metrics and tools.
    • Prepare regular reports on communication activities, outcomes, and recommendations for improvement.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to refine communication approaches and achieve desired results.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related role.
  • Proven ability to create compelling content and manage communication strategies.
  • Strong media relations skills and experience working with journalists and media outlets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in communication and project management tools, including MS Office Suite and communication platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using metrics to measure communication effectiveness.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with crisis communication and reputation management.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media platforms.
  • Certification in communication or public relations (e.g., APR) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexibility in work location.
  • Occasional travel may be required for media events or corporate meetings.
