Role Summary: Be the Quality Hero We Deserve
As a Remote Software Quality Engineer, you’ll take the lead in safeguarding our user experience from pesky bugs and regression goblins. You’ll design clever test strategies, automate workflows like a wizard, and dive deep into code with a magnifying glass of truth (a.k.a. your favorite debugger).

You'll ensure our software is sleek, scalable, and user-friendly by analyzing log files, optimizing test coverage, and collaborating with developers for Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Key Responsibilities
Manual and Exploratory Testing
- Conduct detailed manual testing on web, mobile, and API platforms
- Explore features from a user’s perspective to spot inconsistencies
- Create test cases that reflect real-world usage and edge-case chaos
- Execute exploratory testing to identify unforeseen issues and improve usability
- Validate user stories and acceptance criteria for each release
⚙️ Automation & Tooling
- Design and oversee robust automated test pipelines to support continuous deployment
- Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Use platforms like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks
- Establish and evolve an automation testing strategy
- Monitor automated test results and refine testing coverage over time
Strategy & Documentation
- Develop test plans, QA processes, and acceptance criteria
- Ensure full coverage of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Maintain traceable, reusable documentation for self and team use
- Manage test data, test environments, and version control systems
- Maintain a QA knowledge base for onboarding and team collaboration
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, designers, and PMs to champion quality
- Review specs and identify potential issues in early development stages
- Actively participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Share QA insights through demos, dashboards, and documentation
- Drive continuous improvement across QA practices through metrics and feedback
Candidate Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
- 3+ years in software QA (manual and automation testing)
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or equivalent scripting language
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, Git-based workflows, and REST APIs
- Strong knowledge of test design, test strategy, and software lifecycle
- An analytical mindset for testing complex systems and user flows
Bonus Skills & Attributes
- Experience with AI-driven or data-heavy application testing
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
