The Job in Plain Terms

You'd own the full supply chain — sourcing, transportation, warehousing, distribution — end to end. That means building a logistics strategy that actually supports the business, not just optimizing shipping routes in isolation. You'd manage vendor and carrier relationships, keep inventory levels sane, and lead a remote team through all of it.

Strategy and Coordination

• Build logistics strategies that connect directly to broader business goals.
• Work across procurement, sales, and customer service so logistics decisions don't happen in a silo.
• Track how well current strategies are performing and adjust course when the data says to.

Supply Chain Oversight

• Manage the full chain — sourcing, procurement, transportation, warehousing, distribution.
• Keep suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers working with you, not just for you.
• Push continuously for a more efficient, more reliable supply chain without letting service quality slip.

Inventory and Transportation

• Run inventory control systems that keep stock levels balanced — enough to meet demand, not so much it ties up capital.
• Coordinate transportation routes and schedules to keep delivery timelines on track.
• Negotiate carrier contracts and step in fast when transportation performance dips.

Budget and Risk

• Own the logistics budget and identify cost savings without sacrificing service.
• Spot risks in the supply chain early — disruptions, delays, shortages — and build mitigation plans before they're needed.
• Keep contingency plans up to date so the team isn't scrambling when something unexpected hits.

Compliance, Team, and Technology

• Ensure all logistics activities comply with applicable laws and industry standards.
• Lead a remote logistics team with real coaching, not just task assignment.
• Bring in logistics software, analytics tools, and automation where they genuinely improve the operation.

What You'll Need

Education: Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (minimum requirement). Experience: A track record of 5+ years working in logistics or supply chain roles, with 2 of those years spent specifically in a management capacity.

• Solid command of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management processes.
• Sharp analytical instincts — you make calls based on data, not just gut feel.
• Comfort with logistics management software and related technology platforms.
• Leadership experience, ideally including managing a remote team specifically.
• Strong communication skills across internal teams and external partners alike.
• Working knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern logistics and supply chain operations.
