A great room design means nothing if the sourcing runs late, the budget slips, or the client stops hearing from anyone for two weeks. We're hiring a
full-time Remote Interior Design Project Manager to make sure that never happens on our projects. You'll sit at the center of every job — client, designer, vendor — keeping all three moving toward the same finished space.
The Role, Plainly
Any given project has a dozen threads running at once — a mood board waiting on approval, a vendor quoting a six-week lead time, an installation date that can't move, a client who wants a status update. This job is holding all of those threads without dropping one, and doing it in a way that keeps the client calm rather than buried in updates they didn't ask for. You won't be designing spaces yourself — you'll be making sure the people who are can actually deliver what they promised, on time and within budget.
What You'll Handle
- Run interior design projects from the initial client conversation through final walkthrough
- Build and manage project timelines, adjusting as vendor delays or client changes come up
- Watch spending across furnishings, materials, labor, and install work so nothing quietly goes over
- Be the person clients call when they have a question, rather than bouncing between five contacts
- Keep designers, contractors, and vendors talking to each other instead of working in silos
- Walk through finished work against the original plan before signing off on a project
What You Bring
A background in interior design combined with real project management experience is what we're after — not one without the other. You should understand design terminology and process well enough to catch when something's off track, even if you're not the one holding the pencil. Comfort managing several projects at once matters too, since overlap between jobs is normal in this line of work.
Client-facing skills are essential. You'll be the person delivering both good news and bad news — a shipment delay, a budget adjustment, a design change — and how that gets communicated affects whether a client trusts the process or starts to worry.
Helpful But Not Required
- Experience with residential and commercial interior design projects both
- Familiarity with project management or design software used to track budgets and timelines
- A network of vendor or contractor relationships you already work with
- Formal training or certification in interior design
Pay and Work Setup
This is a full-time role paying
$80,000 per year, and it's fully remote. Client calls, vendor coordination, and design reviews happen over video and phone, so you'll need reliable internet and a setup that supports frequent calls throughout the day.
