We're hiring a Remote Kitchen and Bath Designer to join a fully virtual design team. You'll work with homeowners on everything from tight urban kitchens to spa-style bathroom renovations, using 3D rendering tools that let clients see the finished space long before a single tile goes down. The role is remote, full-time, and pays $120,000 annually.
What the work actually involves
A typical week mixes client consultations with hands-on technical drafting. You'll run video calls to understand how a family actually uses their kitchen — not just what looks good in a photo — then translate that into a functional layout. Some days lean heavily on design software. Others are mostly revisions, back-and-forth with a client who's changed their mind about cabinetry twice already. Both are normal.
- Lead virtual design consultations to understand client needs, budget, and style preferences
- Create detailed space plans, functional layouts, and kitchen or bathroom remodel blueprints
- Produce 3D renderings so clients can visualize the finished space before construction begins
- Develop custom cabinetry concepts, storage solutions, and material selections
- Revise designs based on client feedback and structural or budget constraints
- Coordinate with contractors, technicians, or other designers when a project requires it
- Stay current on sustainable materials, layout trends, and new planning software
Qualifications
Education: a
Bachelor's degree in interior design, kitchen and bath design, or a related field is required.
Experience: at least
2 years of professional experience in kitchen and bath design, residential interior design, or a closely related design role.
Also expected:
- Solid working knowledge of 3D design and space planning software
- A portfolio that shows range — different styles, different budgets, different constraints
- Comfort presenting and defending design decisions to clients over video
- An eye for functional layout, not just visual appeal
- Basic familiarity with construction or renovation timelines
What helps you stand out
Experience with sustainable or eco-conscious material selection is a real plus, since more clients are asking for it than a few years ago. NKBA certification isn't required but is looked on favorably. If you've handled historic property renovations, compact multifunctional layouts, or luxury builds, mention it — those specialties come up often enough that they matter.

You'll have access to industry-standard design and rendering software, along with space-planning tools specifically for kitchen and bathroom layouts. Nothing here requires you to work things out on paper first and translate later — the software is built for the way this job actually runs.
