Remote Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst

📍 Anywhere 🏷️ Cybersecurity 💰 $165,000 / year
Every login is a small decision about trust. Get it wrong, and the wrong person gets in, or the right person gets locked out. As a Remote Identity and Access Management Analyst, you're the one making sure that decision gets made correctly, thousands of times a day, without anyone noticing the work behind it.

What This Role Covers

You'll manage who gets access to what, across systems, teams, and devices — and just as importantly, who doesn't. That means designing access flows that are actually secure without making people fight the system to do their jobs. Good IAM work is mostly invisible when it's working right, and very visible when it's not. This is a fully remote position, but the responsibility doesn't shrink as a result. If anything, distributed teams make clean access controls more important, not less.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing access controls across cloud IAM platforms and single sign-on systems
  • Monitoring for suspicious login activity and unnecessary permission buildup
  • Applying zero-trust and least-privilege principles to day-to-day access decisions
  • Reviewing, testing, and updating access controls on a regular schedule
  • Leading investigations when access incidents happen, and following up with real fixes
  • Automating permission cleanup, credential rotation, and audit prep
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes alongside IT and compliance teams
  • Explaining access policies clearly enough that people actually follow them

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, in information security, computer science, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in identity and access management, cybersecurity, or a related IT security role
  • Working knowledge of platforms such as Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, or CyberArk
  • Solid understanding of zero-trust architecture and least-privilege access models
  • Ability to read logs and alerts to catch problems before they escalate
  • Clear communication skills — you'll need to explain access decisions to non-technical staff

Good to Have

  • A security certification such as CISSP, CISM, or an IAM-specific credential
  • Experience running company-wide access reviews or audits
  • Background automating identity workflows or credential management
  • Familiarity with federated identity and multi-cloud access setups

How the Work Actually Runs

You'll set your own schedule here, with results mattering more than hours logged or time zone overlap. That said, incident response doesn't wait for convenient timing, so flexibility runs both ways. You'll work closely with IT, engineering, and compliance teams, and a fair amount of the job is translating technical requirements into steps people without a security background can actually follow. Candidates finding this listing through Naukri Mitra often ask how much of the role is technical versus communication — realistically, it's both, and neither one works without the other.

Compensation and Benefits

This role pays $165,000 annually, along with:
  • Fully remote work, with schedule flexibility based on your own workflow
  • Support for security certifications, training, and conference attendance
  • Ownership of high-impact projects, including company-wide access reviews
  • Growing influence as your process improvements get adopted across teams

Who Tends to Do Well Here

This role suits people who notice the small inconsistency everyone else scrolls past — an odd permission, a login pattern that doesn't quite fit. It also suits people who'd rather simplify a broken process than just patch around it. If you think security works best when it's simple enough that people actually follow it, this is built for that mindset.
