Good content writing looks easy from the outside β until you're staring at a blank doc trying to make a whitepaper on B2B software sound like something a person would actually finish reading. We're hiring a
Remote Freelance Content Writer who's already figured that part out.
What You'd Be Doing
The work spans formats: blog posts, articles, case studies, website copy, the occasional script or whitepaper. Some assignments come with a tight brief and a clear brand voice to match. Others give you more room to shape the angle yourself. Either way, you're translating a marketing goal into something a reader actually wants to finish β not just skim past.
How the Work Gets Done
You'll take briefs from content strategists and turn them into finished pieces that hit the intended tone, whether that's playful, technical, or somewhere in between. Multiple pieces move through your pipeline each week, so pacing matters as much as quality. Self-editing is expected β you're not handing over rough drafts for someone else to fix. You'll follow internal style guides, catch your own inconsistencies before they reach an editor, and communicate proactively when a deadline needs to be adjusted rather than going quiet.
What We're Looking For
We need candidates holding at least a
Bachelor's degree β English, journalism, communications, or marketing backgrounds tend to translate well, though it's not the only path in.Β
Experience: we needΒ 3 years or more of freelance or agency writing, ideally with some of that time spent working remotely.
- Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement)
- 3+ years of freelance or agency writing experience, remote work preferred
- Demonstrated range across formats β not just one type of piece, repeated
- Strong command of grammar, structure, and narrative flow
- Comfortable researching a topic quickly and citing sources credibly
- Working knowledge of SEO writing practices and content structure for readability
Exposure to a specific industry β SaaS, e-commerce, finance, education, lifestyle β isn't required, but it helps if you've written in one or two of those spaces before. Same goes for experience writing headers, intros, and CTAs that actually pull a reader forward rather than just fill space.
Where You'd Fit In
This is a remote-first team, and the schedule is mostly yours to set β as long as the work ships on time and communication stays consistent. Virtual meet-ups happen regularly, partly for coordination and partly because writers working alone benefit from occasional contact with people who understand the job. This posting is live across several channels, including Naukri Mitra, but the review process is the same regardless of where an application is received.
Tools You'll Work In
Day-to-day collaboration runs through Google Workspace, with Trello or Asana handling the content pipeline. Grammarly, Hemingway Editor, and Copyscape cover editing and originality checks before anything goes out. Drafts and revisions live in WordPress or Ghost, and SEO research is conducted using tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Surfer SEO. Analytics dashboards are available if you want to see how your published work actually performs, though that part's optional.
Pay and Perks
This role pays
$118,000 annually. Beyond the base rate:
- Fully remote, work-from-anywhere flexibility
- High-visibility assignments tied to measurable engagement
- An open feedback culture β editorial notes are meant to sharpen the work, not just correct it
- Regular virtual workshops and peer review sessions
- Real variety in subject matter rather than the same brief on repeat
Room to Grow
Writers who deliver consistently tend to get pulled into bigger campaigns over time, sometimes leading collaborative projects or shaping content planning for a specific segment. There's also room to mentor newer writers or help build out voice and tone guidelines as the brand expands. If you're aiming for a senior editorial track β or thinking about creative strategy down the line β this is a reasonable place to build toward that.
Apply
Open to applicants in the U.S., Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia, India, and several other regions. Send a resume with two or three writing samples that show range β a long-form piece and something shorter both help. We'll follow up from there.
