Remote Employee Engagement That Actually Works
Ever worked remotely and felt like you were on an island? Not here.
We believe remote teams
can feel like real teamsâconnected, trusted, celebrated. And thatâs where
you come in. This isnât your average HR gig. Youâre not just checking boxes or sending out surveys. Youâre shaping how people
feel at work, even when theyâre a thousand miles apart.
Letâs build something meaningful, together.
Why This Role Matters
Remote work is here to stayâbut connection? That takes effort.
When you join us as our
Remote Employee Engagement Specialist, youâre taking on the heartbeat of our distributed team. Youâll help make sure people feel seen, heard, and fired up to do their best work.
The truth? Remote life can be a little weird. Birthdays get forgotten. Wins donât always get a shoutout. Folks can feel invisible.
Your job is to fix thatâevery day, in big and small ways.
What You'll Be Owning
Letâs get into it. Hereâs where youâll roll up your sleeves:
Youâll Keep Us Connected
- Design virtual events that donât suck (no more boring Zoom trivia)
- Launch connection rituals: think shoutouts, coffee chats, peer stories
- Run monthly âpulse checksâ and actually act on the feedback
Youâll Build Real Moments
- Remember Joeâs dogâs surgery and follow up
- Celebrate big wins and weird holidays (National Taco Day? Yes please.)
- Make it easy for managers to careâfrom check-in templates to birthday nudges
Youâll Nurture Culture (Without Cheese)
- Spotlight team values through real people and stories
- Create async ways to bond: playlists, team wins wall, pet parades
- Keep a pulse on whatâs workingâand whatâs tired
A Day in the Life
Morning: You kick off your day checking Slack. Someone shared a photo of their kidâs first day of school. You give it a â¤ď¸ and move on to prepping for this weekâs virtual hangoutâa âWould You Ratherâ game thatâs already got people talking.
Midday: You hop on a quick sync with HR and a few team leads. Someoneâs struggling with team energy on calls. You brainstorm an idea: rotating call hosts with surprise themes. Everyoneâs in.
Afternoon: You send out a Friday âSmall Winsâ roundup. You shout out Mariaâs client save, Jasonâs 5-year workiversary, and that someone finally figured out the broken expense form.
Itâs not just noise. People care. People smile.
Traits Thatâll Help You Thrive
Not a perfect list, but these are the vibes:
- Youâre a people nerd. You remember little things and genuinely like checking in.
- You love making things better. You see gaps and think, "Ooh, I can fix that.â
- Youâre creative, but not fluff-only. You know engagement isnât about emojis alone.
- Youâre consistent. You donât start things and disappear. You build trust over time.
- Youâre comfy with tools like Slack, Notion, Zoom, and async video apps.
- You get that different people show up differentlyâand design for everyone.
The Team Youâll Join
Youâre not flying solo. Hereâs whoâs in your corner:
- Alex (People Ops Lead): Big on data, but also big on humanity. Loves feedback.
- Tariq (Head of Remote): Obsessed with time zones and fairness. Total introvert.
- Jess (Comms & Culture): Brings the sparkle. Also the queen of gifs.
Together, youâll shape how our 150+ remote team members across 7 countries feel connected, celebrated, and part of something real.
What Success Looks Like
This isnât a checkbox role. We care about real outcomes:
- Employee NPS and feedback scores go up
- People actually show up (and enjoy) engagement initiatives
- You build rituals that stickâeven after youâve moved on
- New hires feel welcome from day one
- Managers feel supported and energized
And yeah, youâll have space to experiment. Not everything will work. But youâll learn fast, adjust, and keep trying. Thatâs what makes this fun.
Tools in Your Toolbox
No need to be a tech wizard, but being handy with a few tools helps:
- Slack (youâll live here)
- Notion or Confluence for organizing ideas
- Zoom and Loom for face time and async comms
- Survey tools like Typeform or Polly
- Canva or Figma (even just for simple visuals)
Weâre always open to better tools, too. If youâve got a favorite, bring it.
Perks, Pay & Flexibility
Letâs talk brass tacks:
- Annual Salary: $138,000 USD
- Remote-First: Work from wherever you feel your best
- Flexible Hours: Sync up when needed, but no 9-to-5 prison
- Wellness Budget: Mental health, gym, you name it
- Home Setup Stipend: Because your workspace should work
- Paid Time Off: Generous. Encouraged. Expected.
- Team Retreats: Optional, but we do love getting together now and then
Challenges Youâll Face (And How We Tackle Them)
Letâs be realâitâs not all virtual dance parties and happy hours.
- Zoom fatigue is real. Thatâs why we keep things async when we can.
- Engagement can feel like extra work. So we bake it into daily routines.
- Different cultures, time zones, personalities. Thatâs our edge and our challenge. We lead with empathy.
You wonât fix everything in your first month. But youâll get support. Youâll get trust. And youâll get the chance to make a difference.
The Kind of Energy Weâre After
You donât need every checkbox ticked.
But if reading this made you nod along, smile, or think
"Finally, something different"âyouâre probably a great fit.
We care more about
how you think and connect than a resume full of buzzwords. So if youâve got stories, ideas, or even questions? Letâs hear them.
Letâs Make Remote Work Feel Human
Thereâs nothing like being part of a team that
gets it. That sees each other. That knows weâre not just workers on a screenâweâre people.
If youâre ready to help build that, we canât wait to meet you
