Online Learning Experience Designer (Remote)
Location: Remote Annual Salary: USD 50,000 Job Summary: We seek a creative and innovative Online Learning Experience Designer to join our dynamic team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to shape learners' educational experiences worldwide. As an online learning Experience Designer, you will design, develop, and deliver high-quality, engaging, and accessible online learning experiences. You will work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, multimedia developers, and other stakeholders to create pedagogically sound content that is learner-centric and aligned with our organization’s goals. Key Responsibilities:- Instructional Design and Development:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop online courses, modules, and learning materials.
- Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
- Develop clear learning objectives, assessments, and activities that align with course goals and outcomes.
- To enhance the learning experience, design interactive and multimedia components such as videos, simulations, quizzes, and games.
- Ensure all content is accessible, following best practices and guidelines for inclusive design.
- Learning Experience Design:
- Conduct needs analysis and learner assessments to identify the target audience's needs, preferences, and learning styles.
- Develop user personas and journey maps to understand the learner experience better and guide the design process.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts.
- Iterate designs based on feedback from stakeholders and testing with actual users.
- Implement user experience (UX) design principles to ensure the learning environment is intuitive, user-friendly, and engaging.
- Project Management and Collaboration:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Work closely with instructional designers, multimedia developers, graphic designers, and other team members to ensure cohesive and consistent learning experiences.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on project progress.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure the learning content is compatible with the chosen Learning Management System (LMS) and other delivery platforms.
- Quality Assurance and Evaluation:
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure that all learning materials meet the organization’s standards for quality, consistency, and accessibility.
- Gather and analyze feedback from learners and other stakeholders to continuously improve the learning experience.
- Use data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of learning interventions and make evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in online learning and experience design.
- Content Curation and Management:
- Curate and organize content from various sources, ensuring it is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with course objectives.
- Maintain and update online learning materials as needed to remain current and effective.
- Utilize content management systems (CMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to upload, organize, and deliver content to learners.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging trends and technologies in online learning and instructional design.
- Participate in webinars, conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
- Share knowledge and insights with team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, e-learning, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and learning theories.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content management systems (CMS).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects.
- Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles and practices.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices in inclusive design.
