Online Course Project Manager to do it, and we're open to full-time or part-time depending on what works for you.
What This Job Really Is
Think of it as the glue between an idea and a finished course. Timelines need watching. Deliverables need chasing down before they slip. And three different people — the one who knows the subject, the one designing the lessons, the one wiring up the tech — need to stay on the same page instead of quietly building three different versions of the same course. Project size varies wildly. Some wrap in a few weeks. Others stretch across months with a dozen dependencies. In both cases, the calendar doesn't get left unattended.
Responsibilities
- Own online course projects end to end, from the first kickoff conversation to the day it launches
- Build out timelines and catch problems while they're still small enough to fix quietly
- Keep subject experts, designers, and tech staff pointed at the same finish line
- Manage budgets and resources so projects don't quietly run over
- Check finished course content against quality standards before it goes live
- Report on project status to leadership without burying anyone in unnecessary detail
What We Need
Solid project management experience is non-negotiable here — ideally in education, e-learning, or a related field, though strong PM experience elsewhere can transfer if you understand the space quickly. You'll need to be comfortable managing multiple projects at once without losing track of details on any of them. A PMP or similar certification helps but won't make up for a lack of hands-on experience running real projects to completion.
Communication matters more than people expect in this role. Half the job is translating between people who think about a course completely differently — a subject expert focused on accuracy, a designer focused on engagement, a client focused on the deadline — and keeping all three moving in the same direction.
Good to Have
- Experience specifically with online course or e-learning project management
- Familiarity with instructional design workflows, even without being a designer yourself
- Comfort with project management software and remote collaboration tools
- A track record managing budgets on top of timelines, not just one or the other
Pay and Setup
This position pays
$90,000 per year. It's remote, and available as either full-time or part-time. Either arrangement means you'll be on video calls with a spread-out team fairly often, since a lot of the coordination in this job doesn't work well over email, so a decent internet connection isn't optional.
