Some ads fade the second they end. Others stick because of a single line delivered exactly right — a pause held a beat too long, a word landed with just enough warmth to sound like advice from a friend rather than a pitch. That's the gap a skilled voice-over artist closes, and it's the gap we need filled for an Online Ad Voice-over Artist to record across social spots, commercial narration, and everything in between.
About the Role
This is a fully remote position with an annual salary of
$80,500. You'll work from wherever you can record clean, consistent audio — a converted closet, a treated home office, a rented booth on recording days if that's what your setup calls for. Nobody's dictating your equipment list beyond the results it needs to produce.
Projects arrive in waves rather than a fixed rhythm. A short-turnaround social ad might land on Monday and be wrapped by Tuesday afternoon; a longer campaign spot with several tone variations could stretch across a week of revisions. The constant across all of it is range — the ability to sound like six different brands without sounding like the same read six times.
Your Day-to-Day
- Record voice-over for digital ads, social media clips, and radio commercials
- Narrate product launches and brand campaigns across multiple platforms and formats
- Deliver e-learning narration for online courses and training modules
- Shift tone and pacing to fit a brand's identity — energetic for one client, measured and reassuring for the next
- Interpret creative briefs and brand guidelines closely enough to stay on-message without sounding like you're reading off a page
- Re-record lines that don't land on the first pass, without letting turnaround slip
- Perform light audio cleanup and export files ready for the production team
What You'll Bring
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement. Experience: at least
1 year in voice-over, acting, or a closely related performance discipline.
- A quality microphone paired with a genuinely quiet recording space
- Working comfort with basic audio editing — trimming takes, cleaning up noise, exporting properly
- Headphones sharp enough to catch a stumble or inconsistency before a client does
- Real vocal range: convincing shifts between upbeat, serious, warm, and playful
- The ability to take direction and rework a read without treating notes as personal feedback
- Reliable self-management — no one is watching over your shoulder to hit a deadline
What Makes an Application Stand Out
- A demo reel showing range across several ad styles and tones, not just one register
- Prior experience in corporate or commercial voice narration specifically
- Background in longer-form projects, such as e-learning or training content
- An interest in eventually moving toward audio direction or mentoring newer voice talent
Reading Between the Lines of a Script
Reading a script aloud and reading it well are two different skills. The difference tends to live in small decisions: where a half-second pause builds anticipation instead of dead air, how "buy our product" becomes something that sounds like a genuine recommendation instead of a command, and how you find a brand's intended tone without being handed a word-by-word map to get there. Naukri Mitra built this role around that distinction, looking specifically for voice talent who can read a brief and fill in the gaps with instinct rather than guesswork.
Who You'll Work With
You won't be recording in a vacuum. Scriptwriters draft the copy, marketers set the campaign direction, and designers shape how the ad looks alongside how it sounds — but the read itself is yours to own. Briefs come through clearly enough that you're not left interpreting tone from scratch, while still leaving room to bring your own judgment to how a line actually gets delivered.
What Comes With the Role
- Fully remote work with flexible hours structured around project deadlines rather than a fixed clock
- A home studio equipment stipend to help you build or upgrade your recording setup
- Performance-based bonuses tied to repeat bookings and standout client feedback
- Weekly check-ins with the creative team to stay connected rather than working in isolation
- A clear path toward larger campaigns and becoming the go-to voice for specific brands over time
The Honest Parts
Recording alone at home isn't always frictionless. A neighbor's lawnmower starts up mid-take, or a line that read fine on paper needs four attempts to land right. That's a normal week, not a red flag. What balances it out: the ads recorded in this role can reach thousands of listeners, sometimes many more, and a strong read has a real, measurable effect on how a campaign performs.
Who Tends to Succeed Here
The best fit isn't necessarily the most formally trained voice in the room. It's usually someone who moves quickly between tones, takes a revision note without getting defensive about it, and manages their own schedule without needing much oversight. If people have told you your voice makes them stop and listen, this role is a solid place to find out what that's actually worth professionally.
Where This Role Is Open
Candidates based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, EU member states, Australia, India, and a number of other approved regions are eligible to apply.
How to Apply
Submit your application along with a demo reel — two or three contrasting reads tell us more about your range than a résumé ever could. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to record a sample script as a practical audition ahead of a final conversation.
