Remote Research Manager Role (Work From Anywhere)
Ready to lead research projects that actually matter? Want to work remotely with a smart, supportive team that values clarity, curiosity, and getting things done? Youâre in the right place.
This role isnât just about data and deadlines. Itâs about solving real problems, uncovering insights that shift strategies, and making research feel less like a reportâand more like a story worth telling.
What Youâll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)
Weâre diving deep into projects that shape how companies build, grow, and serve real people. That means:
- Leading end-to-end research studies (qual and quant, mixed methods, surveys, you name it)
- Talking to real users, customers, and stakeholdersânot just clicking through forms
- Turning complex findings into clear, simple takeaways
- Collaborating with product teams, marketing folks, and execs to make sure insights donât get lost in the shuffle
Youâll be the go-to person when teams are stuck or asking: "What do we actually know about this?"
And the best part? Your work will directly shape what we launch, how we grow, and where weâre headed next.
A Day in the Life (Itâs Not All Spreadsheets)
Honestly? No two days look the same. But hereâs how it
usually plays out:
- Morning check-in with the team (we keep it tightâ15 mins max)
- Reviewing new research requests from stakeholdersâdeciding whatâs urgent, whatâs interesting
- Running interviews or usability tests (yes, we record everything and use the good stuff for team share-outs)
- Synthesizing insights, pulling out patterns, connecting dots others might miss
- Dropping notes into Slack or hopping into a quick call when something needs context
Some days itâs head-down work. Others, itâs full-on collaboration. Either way, youâre always supported and never left figuring things out alone.
What Makes This Role Different
Research isnât an afterthought here. Itâs the starting point.
We donât just want someone to "run a study." Weâre looking for someone who naturally connects the dots, spots patterns others miss, and helps the whole team stay focused on what really matters.
Youâll be working with people who care deeply about the work and value each other as human beings. We celebrate the wins, learn from the misses, and always keep it moving.
What You Bring to the Table
Letâs skip the buzzwords. Hereâs what actually matters:
- Youâve led research projects beforeâfrom planning to analysis to sharing out findings
- Youâre confident with both qualitative and quantitative methods
- You know how to ask the right questions (and youâre not afraid to push back when something feels off)
- You write clearly, speak naturally, and present insights in a way people remember
- You love data, but you also trust your instincts
Bonus: Experience with remote research tools (we use Maze, Dovetail, Airtable, etc.) and global audiences is a huge plus.
Real Talk: Remote Work Isnât Always Easy
Letâs be honest. Working remotely has its challenges. You donât have the "watercooler" chats. Sometimes the time zones donât line up. And sure, the couch
is tempting.
Thatâs why weâve built a rhythm that works:
- Weekly team huddles to stay synced
- Async updates so no oneâs waiting on a reply
- Dedicated focus time (we respect your calendar!)
- A shared drive thatâs actually organized
Youâll always know whatâs happening, where to find things, and how your work fits in.
Who Youâll Work With
You wonât be on an island.
Youâll work closely with folks across product, design, and strategyâplus another Research Lead whoâs always happy to swap notes or brainstorm with you.
Meet Alex: our product manager who loves sticky notes, user stories, and sharing memes in the team Slack.
Say hi to Dana: a designer who always brings fresh ideas and isnât afraid to ask "Why not?"
Together, we tackle real questions like:
- Whatâs blocking users from upgrading?
- Why did sign-ups dip last month?
- How can we make this experience smoother, faster, better?
Youâre not just analyzingâyouâre helping shape decisions.
A Few Things We Care About (And Hope You Do Too)
- Clarity over jargon. If it takes a slide deck to explain it, it probably needs a rewrite.
- Curiosity. Youâre the type to dig a little deeper, ask one more question, or try a new angle.
- Ownership. You donât wait around for permissionâyou step up.
- Kindness. Weâre human first, teammates second. We keep it respectful and real.
The Tools We Use (So You Know What to Expect)
We keep our stack lean but powerful:
- Dovetail for research analysis and tagging
- Slack for daily comms
- Notion for documentation and planning
- Google Workspace for collaboration
- Figma for connecting with design
Not a master of all of them?
Thatâs okay. Weâll help you ramp up.
The Impact Youâll Have
Every insight you uncover has a ripple effect. The landing page we redesigned? Thatâs your research. The product feature we pause? Your call saved us weeks. The strategy we shift? You spotted the blind spot.
This isnât about busywork. Itâs about
real impact.
Weâve seen it happen:
- A small discovery in user interviews helped double conversion rates.
- One survey clarified a major pricing decision.
- A 15-minute call with a confused user? Led to a major onboarding revamp.
You wonât always know where your insights will land. But trust usâthey matter.
Letâs Talk Perks
Hereâs what you can count on:
- Fully remote setupâwork from wherever feels right
- Flexible hoursâas long as the work gets done, weâre good
- Annual salary of $115,000
- No micromanagementâjust trust and expectations
- Room to growâyour role, your influence, your skills
- Real time offâand encouragement to actually use it
Plus a culture where wins are shared, challenges are faced together, and feedback is part of how we improve.
Think Youâre a Fit?
If youâve made it this far, thereâs a good chance this speaks to you.
Youâre not just looking for any research role. You want a place where you can dig deep, grow fast, and help people make better decisions.
So if youâre ready to step into a role where your ideas matter, your voice is heard, and your work actually
changes thingsâ
letâs talk.
