Somewhere between a spreadsheet of donor data and a handwritten thank-you note is where philanthropy actually happens. This role lives in that space. We're looking for a Remote Philanthropy Manager to lead major gift fundraising, corporate partnerships, and grant work for an organization operating across education, healthcare, environmental, and community programs worldwide.
This is a full-time, permanent, fully remote position paying $98,000 annually. You'll set fundraising strategy and then actually run it β building donor relationships, writing grant proposals, negotiating sponsorships, and reporting results up to leadership.
The Scope of the Role
You won't be doing one narrow slice of fundraising. This role covers major gifts, corporate partnerships, and grants, all under one roof. That breadth is intentional β the organization wants someone who can see how a corporate sponsorship, a foundation grant, and an individual major donor all connect back to the same larger strategy, rather than treating them as separate silos.
Building the Strategy
- Design fundraising strategies that map directly to organizational mission and goals.
- Identify new opportunities across major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and government funders.
- Develop fresh campaigns and initiatives that give potential donors a reason to engage.
- Work with marketing and communications on materials and digital content that support the strategy.
Donor Relationships
- Grow lasting connections with the people already giving and the ones who might start, over time rather than around a single ask.
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals with genuinely personalized attention.
- Run donor recognition efforts that make contributions feel seen and valued.
- Keep donors informed on impact through reports, newsletters, and direct updates.
Grants and Corporate Partnerships
- Lead grant writing end-to-end β research, drafting, and submission to foundations, corporations, and government entities.
- Handle grant reporting and stay compliant with funder requirements and deadlines.
- Track grant-funded projects to confirm they're hitting the objectives laid out in the original proposal.
- Identify and build corporate partnerships aligned with the organization's mission.
- Negotiate sponsorships for events, programs, and initiatives, and manage cause-marketing efforts with partners.
Events, Data, and Reporting
- Oversee fundraising events, both virtual and in-person, from planning through post-event evaluation.
- Coordinate vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to keep events running smoothly.
- Maintain donor and contribution records inside the CRM system with accuracy and consistency.
- Analyze fundraising data to gauge what's working and prepare reports for senior leadership.
- Follow legal and ethical standards around fundraising and donor management without exception.
Leading and Mentoring
This role isn't purely individual. You'll work across teams to keep fundraising aligned with broader organizational priorities, and you'll mentor junior team members and volunteers who are newer to fundraising work. Staying current on trends in philanthropy β new funding models, shifting donor behavior, emerging tools β is part of doing the job well, not an occasional extra.
What You'll Need
- Minimum required education: Bachelor's degree; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, or nonprofit management.
- A track record of actually closing major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships β not just pursuing them.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with donors and partners alike.
- A knack for staying on top of several major initiatives at once without letting details slip.
- Working proficiency in CRM software and fundraising platforms.
- Self-motivation and accountability strong enough to thrive without daily oversight.
- Genuine commitment to social impact, not just interest in the fundraising mechanics.

Why People Stay
- Work that translates directly into support for communities worldwide.
- A remote-first environment that treats work-life balance as a genuine priority, not a talking point.
- A team culture built on collaboration rather than competition between fundraisers.
- Health, dental, and vision coverage.
- Paid time off and holiday leave.
- A $98,000 salary with room for growth as fundraising results scale.
