Great research doesn't happen by accident. It comes from someone who knows where to look, how to separate signal from noise, and how to hand leadership exactly the insight they need before they even finish asking for it. If that sounds like you, this Remote Executive Research Assistant role deserves a closer look.
This is a fully remote position built for someone who thrives on turning scattered information into decisions. You'll work directly with senior leadership, feeding their strategy conversations with research that's accurate, timely, and genuinely useful — not just another report nobody reads.
What This Role Actually Involves
You'll sit close to the decision-making process, which means your research needs to be sharp and your judgment needs to be trusted. Executives will lean on you to make sense of markets, competitors, and emerging trends, then translate all of it into something they can act on.
- Research industry trends, competitor moves, and market openings, then summarize what actually matters for leadership
- Pull together data from multiple sources into clear, executive-ready reports and presentations
- Maintain and organize research databases so information stays accurate and easy to retrieve
- Draft executive summaries, briefing documents, and internal whitepapers
- Run SWOT-style assessments to flag risks and highlight growth opportunities
- Track competitor activity, funding trends, and market positioning shifts
- Coordinate multiple research assignments at once, keeping priorities and deadlines on track
- Partner with strategy, marketing, and business intelligence teams to keep research aligned with company goals
- Support light financial and feasibility analysis, including cost-benefit comparisons and market forecasting
The Experience We're Looking For
This isn't an entry-level research post. We're looking for someone who has already spent real time in a research, analyst, or business intelligence capacity and can work with minimal hand-holding.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in research, business analysis, competitive intelligence, or a closely related field
- Strong grounding in both primary and secondary research methods
- Comfort working with large, sometimes messy datasets and pulling clear conclusions from them
- Solid written communication — you'll be writing for executives, so clarity and precision matter
- Ability to manage several research threads simultaneously without losing quality
Education
We're asking for at least a
Bachelor's degree to be considered for this role. A Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus, though not required.
Tools You Should Be Comfortable With
Naukri Mitra generally sees the strongest candidates for this role as those with hands-on comfort with data and collaboration platforms rather than theoretical knowledge alone.
- Can build charts and dashboards in something like Tableau or Power BI without needing a tutorial
- Has run day-to-day work through Google Workspace or Microsoft Teams
- Knows how to keep a research pipeline organized inside Asana, Trello, or a similar tracker
- Has experimented with AI-assisted research or analytics tools in a work setting
Nice-to-Haves
None of the following are dealbreakers, but they'll certainly catch our attention.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data analysis or automation
- Background in investment analysis, risk assessment, or corporate strategy
- Certification in data analytics, business intelligence, or project management
- Exposure to financial modeling or economic forecasting
- Experience researching within a fast-scaling company or industry
Why People Stick Around Here
Compensation for this role is
$99,500 annually, along with a set of benefits designed around actual flexibility and long-term growth.
- Fully remote setup — work from wherever you're most productive
- Flexible scheduling that supports genuine work-life balance
- Performance-based bonuses on top of base salary
- Access to mentorship and structured professional development
- Exposure to cross-market projects with international teams
The Kind of Person Who Fits Well Here
Good research assistants at the executive level tend to share a few traits: they're curious by default, they don't need constant direction, and they know how to push back — respectfully — when the data tells a different story than expected. You'll be trusted with real influence over decisions, so ownership matters more than following a script.
How to Apply
If this sounds like the kind of work you'd be good at, send through your resume along with a short note on a research project you're proud of — what you found, and how it changed the outcome. We're less interested in polished cover letters and more interested in how you think.
This role is open to candidates across the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, India, and other regions, as it is fully remote.
