What You’ll Do Every Day

As a Bilingual Mortgage Underwriter, your core focus will be evaluating loan applications with speed, precision, and empathy. Your bilingual fluency will also empower you to connect with applicants in their preferred language, ensuring transparent and inclusive communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess mortgage loan applications for completeness and compliance with lending guidelines.
• Conduct in-depth credit, income, and asset analysis to determine risk and loan eligibility.
• Communicate underwriting decisions in English and your second language clearly and professionally.
• Collaborate with loan processors, officers, and support teams to gather and verify necessary documentation.
• Issue timely loan decisions with appropriate documentation, including approvals, suspensions, and denials.
• Apply knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and Jumbo loan products accurately.
• Remain up-to-date on regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and compliance standards.
• Support and guide non-English-speaking applicants to create a more inclusive borrower experience

Qualifications We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Bilingual fluency in English and another language (Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, etc.)
• Strong understanding of conventional and government lending guidelines
• Confident decision-making backed by financial analysis and risk assessment
• Strong ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively in two languages
• High comfort level working in a digital and fully remote workflow
