Virtual Workforce Innovation Specialist (Remote)
Ready to do work that actually changes how teams connect and grow remotely? Good. Because thatâs exactly what weâre building here. Weâre not just managing a remote team. Weâre rethinking what a virtual workforce can look likeâand we want
you right in the middle of it.
This role isnât about checking boxes or running someone elseâs playbook. Itâs about stepping up, asking the big questions, and making remote work feel more human, more productive, and way more innovative.
Why This Role Matters
Ever felt like remote work could be betterâless scattered, more connected, maybe even...fun? Thatâs the challenge weâre tackling every day. As a Virtual Workforce Innovation Specialist, youâll help us bring real structure, creativity, and heart to distributed workforces.
This isnât just a tech role or an HR role. Itâs both, plus a whole lot of problem-solving in between. Youâll work with tools, people, and processes. Youâll test ideas, gather feedback, and fine-tune how remote teams actually get stuff done.
What Your Day Could Look Like
Wondering how your day will look here? No two days are the same, but hereâs a glimpse:
- Mornings often start with a quick virtual check-in. Cameras on. Pets allowed.
- You might spend an hour refining onboarding flowsâmaking sure new hires donât feel like theyâre floating in space.
- Then itâs off to test a new productivity tool with the operations team. Does it actually help? Or just add noise?
- After lunch, maybe youâre leading a remote engagement session. Last week, it was a virtual escape room. This week? Coffee roulette.
- By dayâs end, youâre reviewing remote performance metricsâlooking for insights and tweaking playbooks.
Youâll Thrive If You...
- Love figuring out how people work. You ask questions like: What motivates remote employees? How do they stay focused? What slows them down?
- Arenât afraid to try new things. Youâll be testing new tech, new formats, and new ways to keep people aligned.
- Enjoy talking to everyone. Seriously. From IT to HR to junior hiresâyouâll need input from all sides.
- Get stuff done. Youâre not just about ideas. You like making them happen.
Real People, Real Wins
We could throw in a bunch of buzzwords here, but letâs keep it real. Remember when everyone was burned out on Zoom? Sam (from the engagement team) came up with "No-Meeting Wednesdays."
We rolled it out, tracked the results, and productivity jumped. Youâd help us run with ideas like thatâfrom brainstorm to rollout.
Tools & Tech You Might Touch
Donât worry, you donât need to be an engineer. But youâll work closely with tech. Some tools we use:
- Asana, Notion, Trello (we love a good board)
- Zoom, Slack, and Miro
- AI integrations for scheduling, project flow, and even wellness checks
- Survey tools to gauge morale and pulse feedback
Your Core Missions
Still with us? Good. Because hereâs where you really shine.
1. Design Better Remote Workflows
Youâll look at how people move through tasks, meetings, and comms. Then youâll ask: Is this the best way? Can it be smoother, faster, or more human?
- Spot clunky systems and offer better ones
- Build onboarding paths that feel welcoming
- Turn performance check-ins into real convos
2. Boost Remote Engagement
Remote doesnât have to mean distant. Youâll help make things feel connected.
- Plan weekly touchpoints (not just another Zoom)
- Introduce peer shout-outs, micro-surveys, or Slack games
- Find tiny rituals that build culture
3. Drive Innovation in Virtual Workspaces
Weâre not here to copy what everyone else is doing. We want to lead.
- Stay on top of remote work trends
- Test and tweak new tools
- Run pilot programs, gather feedback, and iterate
4. Collaborate Across Teams
Youâll work with people in ops, HR, IT, and leadership. We all want the same thing: better remote work.
- Collect ideas from across the org
- Align tools and workflows with different needs
- Share wins (and misses) so we all improve
A Few Challenges You Might Face
Letâs be realâthis isnât always smooth sailing.
- Some folks will resist change. Thatâs normal. Youâll help them warm up to new ways of working.
- Not every tool will be a hit. Weâll test, learn, and move on.
- Remote fatigue is real. Thatâs why we care about connection and boundaries.
Experience That Helps (But Weâre Flexible)
We care more about how you think than what your resume says. That said, experience in any of these areas will help:
- Remote team management
- Organizational design or operations
- Learning & development
- Digital transformation projects
- Human-centered design
You
donât need a fancy title or years in a big-name company. If youâve led a remote team, helped onboard people virtually, or solved messy problems in creative ways, youâre on the right track.
A Few Must-Haves
We keep it simple. To thrive here, you should:
- Be comfortable working fully remote
- Love figuring out how tools and people work together
- Have strong communication skills (written and spoken)
- Be curious, empathetic, and self-motivated
Salary & Setup
This is a fully remote role. Youâll need a good internet connection, a quiet space, and the ability to stay focused. Weâll provide a home office stipend if needed.
Annual salary: $56,800.
We believe in fair pay, not ping-pong tables. Youâll get flexibility, autonomy, and support. No micromanaging here.
Where You Fit In
Youâre not slotting into a system. Youâre helping build it. Your ideas, your feedback, and your energy will shape how we grow.
You wonât just fit in. Youâll stand out.
