Key Responsibilities
- Patrolling: Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises, both on foot and by vehicle, to ensure safety and security. Monitor for any suspicious activity or individuals and take appropriate action as necessary.
- access control: Manage and monitor access points, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the premises. Check identification, issue visitor passes and maintain visitor logs.
- Incident Reporting: Report any unusual activities or security breaches to the supervisor. Document incidents accurately and promptly, maintaining clear and detailed records.
- Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, providing immediate assistance as required. Liaise with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Surveillance: Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems to detect and respond to any suspicious activity. Maintain operational knowledge of surveillance equipment and protocols.
- Customer Service: Provide a welcoming environment for visitors and employees by offering assistance and information as needed. Maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor at all times.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct safety inspections of the premises and report any hazards to management. Assist in implementing safety protocols to mitigate risks.
- Training and Development: Participate in regular training sessions and drills to stay updated on security procedures, emergency response, and conflict resolution techniques.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; further education in security management or related fields is an advantage.
- Experience: Previous experience as a security guard or in a similar role is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Skills: Strong observational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to security.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and capable of standing for long periods, walking considerable distances, and responding to emergencies.
- Certification: A valid security guard license as per local regulations is mandatory.
- Availability: Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
