Remote Loan Officer Assistant
Applications don't move on their own. Someone has to chase the missing pay stub, notice when a form doesn't quite match what a borrower said on the phone last week, and keep a dozen files inching forward without letting any one of them stall out. That's this job, more or less.
$60,658 a year. Fully remote.
What You'd Be Doing Most Days
Expect a split between people and paperwork. You'll help prep loan applications and pre-approvals, gather whatever documentation lenders need, and keep files organized enough that an audit wouldn't make anyone nervous. Borrowers call or email with questions about what's still missing, and you're the person explaining it in a way that doesn't feel like being processed.
There's a data side too. A typo in the wrong field can hold up a closing by days, so accuracy matters more here than speed. You'll also track deadlines and follow-ups so a signature request doesn't quietly get forgotten because nobody was watching it.
- Help prep loan applications, pre-approvals, and document collection
- Talk with borrowers by phone and email through the process
- Review and organize client documents in line with lending rules
- Enter financial and personal data carefully — accuracy over speed
Tools You'll Actually Use
Salesforce or Jungo for CRM work. Encompass or Byte for loan origination. Slack and Zoom cover most internal conversations, and files live in Google Drive or Dropbox. Some tasks rely on automation to reduce repetitive work. If you haven't touched one of these before, that's genuinely fine — being quick to pick up new tools matters more than already knowing all of them.
What Gets You Hired
A high school diploma or equivalent is the baseline. What matters more is at least 2 years supporting loan officers, or something similar in lending, finance, or customer service — real hands-on experience, not just adjacent office work. You should be comfortable with mortgage basics, write and speak clearly, and stay organized when three things need attention at once.
- High school diploma or equivalent, minimum
- At least 2 years in a comparable lending, finance, or customer service role
- Basic familiarity with mortgage products and lending workflows
- Strong communication, written and verbal
- Comfortable across CRMs and cloud-based tools
None of these are dealbreakers on their own, but they help: a bachelor's degree in finance or business, some understanding of lending compliance basics, prior experience specifically in mortgage lending rather than general admin, or comfort using AI-assisted workflow tools.
A lot of lending postings on Naukri Mitra read like generic data entry roles. This one isn't quite that — you're not just typing numbers into fields; you're the reason an application doesn't stall for a week over a missing document.
Pay and What's Included
- $60,658 USD annual salary
- Fully remote, with a work-life balance that's real rather than a phrase on a careers page
- Paid time off
- Support and training if you want to move toward full loan processing or a licensed loan officer path down the line
How the Team Actually Works
We're spread out, and we try not to let that show in how the work feels day-to-day. There's a steady rhythm of check-ins, an open channel for questions instead of a chain of approvals to get through, and people notice when someone catches a problem early. Nobody's expected to answer emails at 9 pm. The work happens during the hours you're actually working.
Where This Can Go
This isn't meant to be a role you stay in forever unless you want to. If moving toward full loan processing or a licensed loan officer path interests you, there's built-in mentorship and training to support that transition. We'd rather grow someone who already understands our process than bring that experience in cold from outside.
Applying
Send your resume along with a short note on any lending, finance, or customer service experience you've had. Specifics help more than a general summary of your background. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and we move quickly with candidates who demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Open to applicants from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, India, and other eligible regions.
