Remote Insurance Customer Service Representative
Somebody has to pick up the phone when a policyholder's claim is stuck, or answer the email asking why a premium changed. That person needs to know insurance well enough to actually help, not just read from a script. We're hiring a Remote Insurance Customer Service Representative to be that person — someone who can handle policy questions, claims confusion, and the occasional frustrated caller with equal patience.
The role pays $95,000 annually and is fully remote, full-time.
What the Work Involves
Most of your day is spent on phone, email, and chat, answering questions about policies, coverage, and claims. Some calls are simple — a customer wants to know if something's covered. Others take more work, like walking someone through what documentation a claim actually needs and following up until it's resolved rather than letting it stall in someone's inbox.
You'll also handle the paperwork side: reviewing applications, processing endorsements and renewals, and ensuring policy details are accurate before they cause problems later. When something needs escalating, you'll loop in the right internal team rather than letting a customer bounce between departments.
- Handle customer inquiries by phone, email, and chat
- Process policy applications, endorsements, and renewals
- Guide customers through claims documentation and follow-up
- Keep customer records accurate and interactions well-documented
- Escalate complex issues to the right internal team when needed
Staying current on products and industry changes is part of the job too, since customers ask questions that assume you already know the answer. Ongoing training helps with that, but a fair amount comes from just doing the work long enough to see the patterns.
What We Need From You

- Retirement savings plan with company contributions
- Generous paid time off and holiday leave
- Flexible scheduling within a fully remote arrangement
How Success Gets Measured
Speed matters less than whether a customer's problem actually gets solved the first time. We look at resolution quality, how accurately records get kept, and whether escalations get handled smoothly rather than dragging on. Consistency across every interaction — not just the easy ones — is what separates someone who's good at this from someone who's just getting by.
Working With the Team
You won't be handling every case alone. Regular team meetings keep everyone aligned on process changes, and there's an expectation that you'll flag patterns you notice rather than handle tickets one at a time in isolation. Compliance matters throughout — every interaction needs to hold up against company policy and regulatory standards, not just sound good on the call.
