Remote HR Systems Consultant
Ever wished you could
make a real difference in how companies manage their peopleâwithout leaving your home office? Thatâs exactly what this role is about. Weâre looking for someone who gets how people and systems work together and can bring those two worlds closer. Youâll help businesses run smoother, teams feel more connected, and HR processes actually
work for the people using them.
Why This Role Matters
HR systems arenât just about buttons and dashboardsâtheyâre about people. The best tech in the world is useless if folks canât figure it out or if it doesnât match the way they work. Thatâs where you come in. Youâll be the bridge between the technology and the humans who use it.
Think of the last time a payroll system crashed right before payday. Or when a new HR platform launched, but no one knew where to find their payslips. These moments cause stress, frustration, and sometimes panic.
Youâll be the one who makes sure those moments donât happen.
Your Day-to-Day
Letâs be honestâno two days will look exactly the same. But hereâs a taste of what youâll be doing:
- Spotting gaps in how HR tools are used and making them work better.
- Working with teams to understand their real needsâsometimes over Zoom coffee chats.
- Setting up, testing, and improving HR platforms so theyâre easy to use.
- Training folks in plain English (no tech-speak) so they feel confident using the tools.
- Keeping an eye on updates and figuring out how they fit into the bigger picture.
One day you might be mapping out a new onboarding process with a clientâs HR lead, the next you could be troubleshooting a payroll integration thatâs causing headaches.
How Youâll Work With Us
Weâre remote-first, so your desk can be wherever you likeâkitchen table, co-working space, or a sunlit corner with your favorite mug. But that doesnât mean youâre on your own. Weâve got weekly team calls, quick check-ins, and plenty of moments to share wins (big and small).
Like when Sarah from our team helped a client slash onboarding time from three weeks to five daysâyep, we celebrated that. We believe in making time to appreciate the work we do together.
What Youâll Bring
Letâs talk about what makes you great for this role. Weâre not talking about endless bullet points of âmust-haves.â Instead, hereâs what will help you shine:
- You understand HR systemsâmaybe youâve worked with platforms like Workday, BambooHR, or SAP SuccessFactors.
- You listen first, then come up with solutions that fit real needs.
- You can explain tricky stuff in a way that makes sense to someone whoâs not technical.
- Youâve got a problem-solving mindsetâwhen something doesnât work, you figure out why and fix it.
- You enjoy building relationships with people, even through a screen.
The Kind of Projects You Might Take On
- Streamlining a leave management process so people can request time off in under two minutes.
- Helping a client roll out a performance review tool without making it feel like a chore.
- Setting up automated reminders so managers never miss a probation check-in.
What Success Looks Like Here
After a few months, youâll know youâre doing well when:
- Clients trust you to recommend changes without second-guessing.
- Youâre the go-to person when someone says, âThis tool is driving me nutsâcan you help?â
- Teams youâve worked with feel more confident, more organized, and less stressed.
Your Team
Youâll be part of a group that knows how to balance professionalism with being human. We share ideas openly, ask questions without fear, and step in when someoneâs overloaded. We also know how to laughâbecause honestly, some of the things that happen in HR are just plain funny.
The Tools We Use
Weâre not tied to one platformâwe work with whatever our clients use. That could be big names like Oracle HCM or smaller, specialized tools. We also use:
- Slack for quick updates.
- Asana to keep projects moving.
- Zoom for meetings (and sometimes virtual coffee breaks).
Challenges Youâll Face
Letâs keep it realâthis isnât always easy. You might deal with:
- Resistance to change (yes, people still prefer spreadsheets sometimes).
- Systems that donât play nicely with each other.
- Tight deadlines when a client suddenly needs a fix before payroll runs.
But youâll never face these alone. Weâre big on problem-solving as a team.
Learning & Growth
We want you to keep growing. That might mean:
- Learning a new HR platform.
- Getting certified in HR tech.
- Taking on bigger, more complex projects.
Weâll back you with resources, training, and support to get you there.
Work-Life Balance
Remote work has its perksâbut also its challenges. We respect boundaries, so we keep meetings focused and work hours reasonable. No âalways-onâ culture here. If youâve finished your work for the day, close that laptop and take a walk.
The Salary & Perks
Weâre offering
$80,500 a year. Along with that, youâll get:
- Flexible working hours.
- Paid time off.
- Support for learning and development.
- A team that actually values your input.
A Little Story To Picture It
Last month, one of our consultants, Mark, helped a client whose HR system kept glitching during onboarding. New hires were getting the wrong training materials, and managers were frustrated. Mark jumped in, figured out the systemâs workflow problem, and fixed it in a day. The next Monday, the HR director called just to say, âYouâve saved us weeks of headaches.â Thatâs the kind of impact weâre talking about.
Who Youâll Love Working With
If you like:
- Problem-solving without overcomplicating things.
- Helping people feel less stressed at work.
- Making systems feel human-friendly.
âŚthen youâll probably enjoy this role.
