Key Responsibilities
Machine Operations
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to manufacture components per specifications.
- Load raw materials, secure workpieces, and fine-tune machine settings for accuracy.
- Calibrate machines to achieve high-precision standards.
- Monitor operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary modifications to maintain efficiency.
- Work with different materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
Precision & Quality
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining needs.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
- Identify defects or deviations and make necessary corrections.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control procedures and machine adjustments.
⚖️ Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety guidelines and adhere to workplace regulations.
- Wear protective equipment and comply with OSHA standards.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized to promote a safe environment.
- Report potential hazards and safety concerns to management.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and coordinate with the maintenance team for advanced repairs.
- Ensure tools and equipment are in optimal condition to minimize downtime.
- Stay updated with evolving CNC programming techniques and industry trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; CNC machining certification is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a CNC Operator or in a related machining role.
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code and M-code.
- Proficiency in machine setup, adjustments, and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, and schematics.
- Skilled in tool offsets, speed adjustments, and feed rate modifications for different materials.
- Competency in using precision measuring tools for quality control.
- Familiarity with CNC control systems such as Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens.
