Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, preparing financial reports, and assisting in the company's financial planning and analysis. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all financial transactions.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, bills, receipts, and other financial documents.
- Record debits, credits, and all relevant financial data into the accounting system.
- General Ledger Management:
- Update and maintain the general ledger.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts.
- Ensure accurate posting of all journal entries, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate financial statements such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Analyze financial data and present findings to management for decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze variances between actual results and budgets, providing insights into financial performance.
- Support management in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure the company complies with all tax regulations and filings.
- Prepare and submit timely GST, TDS, and other tax returns.
- Collaborate with external auditors and consultants for tax assessments and audits.
- Payroll and Employee Benefits:
- Manage the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
- Handle employee reimbursements, bonuses, and deductions.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits, such as provident fund and gratuity.
- Internal Controls and Audits:
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Identify potential financial risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
- Vendor and Client Management:
- Liaise with vendors and clients to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor daily cash flow and ensure that sufficient funds are available for the company's operations.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and report any discrepancies to management.
- Technology and Tools:
- Utilize accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP to manage financial transactions.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest financial software and tools that improve efficiency and accuracy.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CA, CMA, or CPA is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of accounting.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement changes effectively.
- Teamwork: Able to work collaboratively with other departments and external stakeholders.
