Remote Python DevOps Engineer
Build a Foundation for Modern Engineering
How do world-class teams deliver at speed without sacrificing quality or security? By investing in the backbone: DevOps. As a Remote Python DevOps Engineer, you’ll engineer the connective tissue that brings code, cloud, and culture together. Here, you won’t just automate routine work—you’ll lay the groundwork for scalable, secure systems that help every product and engineering team move with confidence.
Shape the DevOps Culture—Remotely and Authentically
Imagine empowering engineers worldwide to ship better, faster, and safer. That’s your day-to-day. Whether you’re writing robust Python automation scripts, architecting CI/CD pipelines, or refining cloud infrastructure, you’re guiding our evolution with every commit. Your input turns friction into flow, reduces downtime, and ensures every deployment meets our high bar for excellence.
We value outcome-driven engineers: you’ll have the freedom to experiment, fail fast, and lead change. If you see an opportunity for improvement, you have the support and resources to pursue it—no red tape.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
Design and Deploy Modern Automation
- Write expressive, scalable Python automation that anticipates change.
- Build and refine CI/CD pipelines (think: GitHub Actions, CircleCI) that empower developers to ship with confidence.
- Translate business and engineering goals into resilient infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Pulumi, or your favorite tool.
Strengthen Our Cloud Footprint
- Architect and manage AWS and GCP environments for scale, security, and reliability.
- Deploy and orchestrate containers with Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS—powering everything from microservices to big data workloads.
- Implement automated backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies that make resilience a reality, not a hope.
Drive Observability and Performance
- Integrate real-time logging, monitoring, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) for actionable insights—no black boxes.
- Analyze system metrics to resolve bottlenecks before users even notice.
- Empower teams with dashboards and self-service monitoring tools, enabling them to own their uptime.
Champion Automation & Security by Default
- Develop Python-driven testing frameworks that run on every push, not just before releases.
- Integrate compliance and vulnerability scanning into deployment pipelines to catch issues early.
- Pioneer canary, blue-green, and rolling deployments to keep innovation and reliability in harmony.
Collaborate and Inspire Across Boundaries
- Partner closely with product, design, and QA—your work makes every launch smoother and every rollback rarer.
- Lead peer reviews and technical workshops, helping engineers level up their DevOps thinking.
- Document not just the "how" but the "why" behind your decisions so that others can build confidently on your work.
Our Remote Engineering Environment
We’re a fully distributed, deeply collaborative team. You’ll join daily standups and async discussions on Slack and Notion, balance focused work with meaningful feedback, and always have a voice in technical decisions. Sprints are well-paced to prevent burnout, and our retros aren’t just rituals—they spark real change.
Here, autonomy meets accountability: you own major projects, yet always have expert teammates to bounce ideas off. You’ll never be siloed or overwhelmed with process; we’d rather see you automate a workflow than fill out another ticket. Our tech stack includes Python, Bash, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, AWS, GCP, and best-in-class monitoring.
What Sets You Up for Success
- 4+ years in DevOps or site reliability engineering, with a portfolio of Python automation you’re proud of
- Hands-on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP preferred)
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestrating containerized services in real production environments
- A passion for monitoring, observability, and sharing operational wisdom
- Ability to untangle complex concepts for teammates—on paper or Zoom
- A proactive, experiment-driven mindset: you’re happiest when learning, teaching, and building
- Familiarity with agile delivery and remote-first team dynamics
Growth, Benefits, and Why You’ll Stay
This fully remote role pays an annual salary of
$102,500. Your work will support thousands of users and empower global engineering teams to do their best work faster and with less friction. You’ll help retire outdated processes and architect systems that last. Beyond the paycheck, you’ll be part of a culture that prioritizes clarity, psychological safety, and continuous learning. There are no gatekeepers here: ideas are debated respectfully, wins are shared, and failures become fuel for growth.
You’ll receive dedicated mentorship, opportunities to drive cross-team projects, and the freedom to push the boundaries of what modern DevOps can do. Plus, you’ll stay on the front lines of industry trends, with support for professional development and certifications.
