Remote Learning Operations Consultant
Why This Role Feels Different (In a Good Way)
Picture this: itâs a Monday morning, coffee in hand, and youâre working from your favorite spot â maybe your kitchen table, maybe that quiet little nook you love. No commute. No rushing. But youâre still part of a team thatâs building something that matters. Thatâs the energy here.
Weâre not just ticking boxes or following the same old playbook. Weâre figuring out new ways to make remote learning click â for students, for instructors, for the whole team. Youâll get to solve real problems, not just hypothetical ones. And youâll see the difference your work makes, every single day.
The Heart of the Role
Here, youâll dive into the nuts and bolts of running smooth, engaging, and reliable remote learning experiences. Think of yourself as the person who makes sure the behind-the-scenes magic happens â because without that, even the best lesson plan can fall flat.
Youâll set up systems, fix hiccups before they turn into headaches, and keep everyone in the loop. Youâll be the one who notices when a process feels clunky and says,
"Hey, letâs make this easier."
What Your Days Might Look Like
Some days youâre mapping out a new workflow that cuts setup time in half. Other days, youâre jumping into a quick call to help an instructor whoâs struggling with a tool five minutes before class starts. You might spend a morning testing new learning platforms, and an afternoon checking that all the right people have all the right resources.
Honestly, thereâs no one "typical" day here. And thatâs kind of the fun of it.
The Work That Matters
Your work will shape how people experience learning from anywhere. Youâll help design systems that make things run without a hitch, even when everyoneâs miles apart. Youâll keep communication clear, tools up-to-date, and support just a click away.
Remote learning can be incredible â but only if the operations side is solid. Thatâs where you come in.
How Youâll Make It Happen
- Streamline learning operations so instructors can focus on teaching and students can focus on learning.
- Spot and solve bottlenecks before they slow things down.
- Keep teams connected, whether theyâre in three time zones or just two blocks apart.
- Test and improve tools so they actually help (and donât get in the way).
- Create clear, easy-to-follow processes that anyone can pick up.
A Few Stories From Our Team
Last month, Jamie (one of our consultants) spotted that our onboarding for new instructors was taking way too long. She cut it down from a week to two days by reworking the checklist and automating half of the steps. Students got their classes started faster, instructors felt more confident, and the whole team cheered.
Another time, we had a tech glitch ten minutes before a big webinar. Alex stayed calm, found a quick workaround, and even managed to keep the mood light with a joke about âgoing old schoolâ if we had to switch to phones. The webinar went ahead without a hitch.
These are the kind of moments youâll be part of.
The Skills That Fit This Role
Weâre looking for someone who can balance the big picture with the small details. You donât have to be the worldâs top tech expert, but you do need to feel comfortable picking up new tools and figuring them out.
- Youâre organized but flexible.
- You can explain tricky things in plain English.
- You spot problems early and fix them fast.
- You know how to keep people informed without overwhelming them.
- You can juggle a few projects without dropping the ball.
A Few Tools You Might Use
We switch tools when we find something better, but right now we use a mix of learning platforms, scheduling tools, chat apps, and shared docs. If youâve worked with LMS systems, video conferencing tools, or project management software before, youâll feel right at home. If not, youâll pick it up.
Challenges Weâre Honest About
Remote work can feel lonely sometimes. Here, we keep things connected with weekly team huddles, random coffee chats, and quick check-ins. Sometimes tech will fail at the worst possible moment â but we treat those moments as puzzles to solve, not disasters.
And yes, some days will be busier than others. Big launches, sudden changes, or last-minute fixes can happen. But youâll always have a team thatâs got your back.
How Success Looks Here
When systems run smoothly, students and instructors barely notice the operations work â and thatâs the point. Youâll know youâre doing it right when things just
work, and people can focus on learning, not logistics.
We celebrate the wins here, both big and small. Whether itâs launching a new class without a single hiccup or shaving 10 minutes off a routine task, it all matters.
Where Youâll Make an Impact
Youâll help:
- Build reliable processes for scheduling and running remote classes.
- Keep instructors trained and confident.
- Make sure students get timely updates and support.
- Test and improve tech setups so classes start on time and run smoothly.
- Create resource guides that actually get used.
Growth and Learning
Weâre always improving. Youâll get to test new tools, try new approaches, and learn from a team thatâs been in the remote learning space for years. If you see a better way to do something, weâll want to hear it.
Work Style That Thrives Here
- Youâre comfortable working independently but know when to ask for help.
- You like figuring out how things work.
- You can stay calm when things get busy.
- You enjoy helping people solve problems.
- Youâre okay with some trial and error along the way.
What Youâll Get
This position is entirely remote, giving you the freedom to work from wherever you feel most productive and comfortable. The annual salary is
$103,900, and youâll have flexibility in how you structure your day. We believe in results over rigid schedules.
Youâll also get to be part of a team that genuinely cares about the work and about each other. We make space for personal growth, learning, and the occasional off-topic chat that turns into a new idea.
A Day in the Life
Morning: Check messages, respond to anything urgent, and make sure the dayâs classes are set.
Late Morning: Work on a process improvement project, maybe updating a guide or testing a new scheduling tool.
Afternoon: Jump into a call to help an instructor troubleshoot a tech issue. Then, review reports from the last week to spot patterns or issues to fix.
End of Day: Share updates with the team, wrap up open tasks, and log off knowing youâve made things easier for everyone.
Why You Might Love It Here
If you like variety, problem-solving, and making a real difference in how people learn remotely, this role will give you that every day. Youâll see the direct impact of your work and get to be part of a team that values ideas over hierarchy.
Final Thought
Remote learning is here to stay, and it can be even better than in-person â when itâs done right. Here, weâre making that happen. If youâre ready to
step up, find smarter ways to work, and help people learn without barriers, youâll fit right in.
