Every company says it wants better data. Few actually pay someone to sit down and fix how the data is stored, tagged, secured, and found again six months later. That's this job.
The Basics
Remote. Full-time. $162,500 a year. We're open to candidates in several countries, so location isn't the filter here — judgment is. You'll decide how information moves through the company, who gets access to what, and how long anything sticks around before it's archived or deleted. It's a hands-on role. You won't be writing memos about decisions someone else already made.
What You'd Actually Do
- Build out digital repositories and metadata schemas people can navigate without asking IT for help
- Sort out version control so old drafts and duplicate files stop causing confusion
- Write governance policy that survives contact with GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 audits
- Assess where data security or access controls are weak, then fix it rather than flag it and move on
- Own how data moves from creation to archiving, start to finish
- Sit with IT during migrations to make sure nothing gets lost or corrupted along the way
- Teach teams how to handle information properly — and write docs people will read, not skim past
- Convince people to actually use new tools, which usually means explaining the "why," not just the "do this now"
What We Need From You
Five years, minimum, in information governance, digital asset management, or data strategy. A bachelor's degree. Past that, we're more interested in what you've fixed than what your resume says.
- You've worked hands-on with knowledge management systems, cloud storage, and security frameworks
- Compliance standards don't scare you off — you build with them in mind from the start
- You've managed projects before; Agile or Scrum experience helps but isn't required
- You can walk someone with zero technical background through a data structure without losing them
Good to Have, Not Required
- Master's degree in information management, data science, or something adjacent
- You've led a full system migration, start to finish, not just sat in the meetings
- You've pushed a rollout through despite pushback from the people using it
- Some time spent working with legal or compliance on privacy issues
- Documentation or training material you built yourself that you can actually show us
Pay and What Comes With It
A lot of job posts, some right here on Naukri Mitra, say "flexible" and mean "reachable at 9 pm." We don't mean that.
- Fully remote work, genuinely flexible hours
- Unlimited PTO — people here actually take it
- A yearly stipend for courses, certifications, or conferences
- Insurance that covers checkups, dental work, and eye care — for your family, not just you
- A one-time payment to help set up a real home office, not just a laptop on a kitchen table
- Equity plus bonuses tied to how the year actually plays out
Why This Role, Specifically
The company's mid-transformation right now — still working out how to scale its information systems without losing control of them halfway through. That means your first year won't be quiet. Legal, IT, and half a dozen business units will all want different things, sometimes at the same time. You'll need to hold your ground more than once. If you'd rather step into something already finished, this isn't it. If you want the version where you're the one building it, apply.
How to Apply
Send your resume. Tell us about one information system you took from broken to working — what was wrong, what you changed, how you knew it actually got better. That part matters more to us than a list of past titles.
