A gala doesn't run itself, and neither does the spreadsheet behind it. Somebody has to book the venue, chase the sponsor who went quiet, brief the volunteers, and still show up calm on the night everything's supposed to come together. That's the job.
The Basics
Remote, full-time, $70,000 a year, with some flexibility around your specific region. You'll plan and run fundraising events end-to-end — galas, auctions, virtual campaigns, whatever the calendar calls for — working alongside internal teams, volunteers, and outside vendors to hit revenue goals without losing the plot on logistics.
What the Job Actually Involves
- Build timelines, budgets, and project plans for each event, from first concept to final teardown
- Line up venues, vendors, and whatever else an event needs to actually happen
- Work with the development team on strategies that grow both attendance and donor engagement
- Handle event marketing — invitations, social posts, email campaigns, press outreach
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers, and make sure they're actually prepared going in
- Keep sponsors and donors in the loop before, during, and after each event
- Track what worked and what didn't, then write it up in a post-event report worth reading
- Keep records straight — budgets, contracts, attendee lists — and stay on the right side of fundraising regulations
What You Need to Have Already
- Experience: at least 3 years planning and coordinating events, ideally in a nonprofit or fundraising setting
- Education: Bachelor's degree required
- A track record of events that actually hit their fundraising targets, not just ones that happened
- Comfort juggling several moving pieces at once without dropping any of them
- Working knowledge of event management software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office
- Enough comfort with social media and digital marketing to run promotion yourself if needed
- The ability to work independently on a remote team, across time zones, without needing constant check-ins
Good to Have
- Experience running virtual or hybrid fundraising events specifically
- A history of managing sponsor relationships that led to repeat support
- Comfort presenting event outcomes to leadership or a board
- Volunteer management experience at scale — recruiting, training, and actually retaining people
- Some background in nonprofit compliance around fundraising events
What Comes With the Role
We're not going to pad this section out with vague "great culture" talk — here's what's actually on offer:
- Fully remote work with flexible hours around event schedules
- Paid time off that scales with tenure
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- Annual budget for professional development and relevant certifications
- Performance bonuses tied to event outcomes
The Team You'd Join
You'll work closely with the development team and a rotating cast of volunteers who care about the mission but need direction to be useful. Postings like this one show up often on Naukri Mitra, but few actually hand a coordinator this much ownership over event strategy from day one — here, you're not just executing someone else's plan, you're helping write it.
How to Apply
Send your resume, a short cover letter, and a portfolio of events you've managed. We're especially interested in outcomes — what the event raised, what went sideways, and what you'd do differently next time.
