Remote Computer Vision Data Scientist (NYC-Based, Fully Remote)
About the Role and Company Vision
A Journey Fueled by Vision (Literally)
It started with a single camera, one tiny lens. Now imagine that lens watching the world, interpreting everything it seesāfrom fast-paced cityscapes to the flicker of human emotion. Thatās where
we stepped in.
Weāre a fast-moving, NYC-born tech innovator that transforms how machines
see and
understand the visual world. From AI-powered diagnostics that read medical images with near-clairvoyant precision, to dynamic, real-time object detection in autonomous systems, we donāt just process imagesāwe tell stories with them.
But this isnāt just about pixels. Itās about purpose. Weāre not hiring a code monkey. Weāre searching for a
creative computational wizard with a heart for innovation and a mind for patterns. Is that you?
Key Responsibilities of the Computer Vision Data Scientist
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept...
As our
Computer Vision Data Scientist, youāll architect intelligent algorithms that see the unseen and decode the visual chaos of the real world. This isnāt a job. Itās a digital safari through neural networks and data pipelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, train, and optimize deep learning models for real-time image processing and video analysis.
- Engineer scalable vision pipelines that convert raw data into actionable insights.
- Apply transfer learning, image segmentation, object recognition, and scene reconstruction techniques.
- Collaborate across product, UX, and engineering teams to build solutions that wow users.
- Experiment with cutting-edge libraries and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV).
- Harness cloud-based platforms for model deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Generate human-readable reports to share insights.
- Evaluate model performance using state-of-the-art metrics and A/B testing.
Tools, Technologies, and Platforms Used
Programming and Frameworks
- Languages: Python (heavy lifting), C++ (for edge-case performance)
- Libraries: PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, scikit-learn, Keras
Platforms and Tools
- Cloud Platforms: AWS SageMaker, Azure ML Studio, Google AI Platform
- Version Control: Git & GitHub
- Visualization Tools: Streamlit, Dash, matplotlib, Seaborn
- Bonus Experience: Familiarity with YOLO, Fast R-CNN, or GANs
Ideal Candidate Profile and Qualifications
What Makes You a Fit
You donāt just write algorithmsāyou understand
why they work. You tinker. You test. You daydream in matrices. Your curiosity outpaces your code, and I often notice you itching for the next challenge.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years working with deep learning and computer vision in a production environment.
- Bachelorās or Masterās in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or related field.
- Experience with convolutional neural networks, image classification, and object tracking.
- Firm grasp of mathematics (linear algebra, probability, optimization).
- Ability to work independently on remote data projects with distributed teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with multi-modal learning systems (vision + NLP).
- Contributions to open-source computer vision frameworks.
- Experience deploying models to edge devices or mobile platforms.
Work Environment and Benefits
Work Where You Think Best
Forget 9-to-5. We're more than 24/7 inspiration. Whether you're coding from a Brooklyn loft or brainstorming from a cabin in the Catskills, we believe great ideas need spaceāand Slack. Lots of Slack.
Perks and Benefits
- Fully remote structure built on trust and transparency
- Annual tech stipend
- Monthly innovation days for personal AI projects
- No dress code (unless Zooming with our robot dog, he's formal)
Company Culture and Values
Culture: Where Nerdy Meets Noble
Weāre a band of data dreamers, AI artists, and pragmatic rebels. Our vibe? Think less
corporate ladder, more
coding campfire. We geek out over model interpretability and emoji reactions in equal measure. Weāre not afraid to failābecause thatās where the real learning happens.
Our diverse team includes neuroscientists, game developers, and even a former stunt double. The only thing weāre missing is you.
Career Path and Growth Opportunities
Growth Looks Like This
This role is just the beginning. As you thrive, so do your opportunities:
- Pathway to Principal Data Scientist or AI Architect
- Lead vision-focused initiatives with full ownership
- Mentor junior data scientists and build your own AI team
- Contribute to thought leadership through papers, talks, and conferences
