Key Responsibilities
♻️ Recycling Program Management
✅ Design, implement, and manage innovative recycling and waste reduction programs
✅ Track and assess the effectiveness of existing recycling efforts, ensuring continuous improvement
✅ Organize and coordinate recycling events to boost awareness and engagement
✅ Identify and implement best practices to optimize waste diversion efforts
✅ Partner with local businesses, government agencies, and community groups to enhance recycling initiatives
Education & Advocacy
✅ Develop and facilitate educational initiatives to promote sustainable waste management
✅ Conduct training sessions for employees and community members on recycling best practices
✅ Create informational materials such as brochures, presentations, and digital content to spread awareness
✅ Encourage broad participation through sustainability campaigns and incentive programs
Vendor & Compliance Management
✅ Establish and maintain productive relationships with recycling service providers and waste management vendors
✅ Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal environmental policies and regulations
✅ Maintain detailed records and documentation related to recycling efforts, sustainability progress, and regulatory compliance
✅ Generate in-depth reports evaluating program performance and recommending areas for improvement
✅ Stay up to date with evolving environmental regulations and waste management industry trends
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Waste Management, or a related field
Previous experience in recycling program coordination, waste management, or sustainability initiatives preferred
In-depth knowledge of recycling policies, environmental regulations, and best practices
Technical & Analytical Skills
Strong project management abilities with exceptional organizational skills
Experience analyzing sustainability metrics and preparing detailed reports
Familiarity with waste management tracking software and data analysis tools
Communication & Leadership
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to educate and engage a diverse audience
Proven ability to lead initiatives, collaborate with teams, and work with external partners
Passion for sustainability with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
