Online Procurement Operations Manager

📍 Anywhere 🏷️ Procurement Operations 💰 $65,000 / year
Every product a company sells online has to arrive somewhere, on time, at the right cost — and that chain of decisions starts long before a customer clicks "buy." We're hiring an Online Procurement Operations Manager to own that chain end-to-end, turning supplier relationships and purchasing data into a smoother, faster e-commerce operation.

What this role actually involves

You'll sit at the intersection of supply chain strategy and digital retail. This isn't a purely back-office procurement job — decisions you make about vendor terms, stock timing, and sourcing directly shape what shows up (or doesn't) on the online storefront. You'll be the person who notices a supplier's delivery times are slipping before it becomes a stockout headline, and the one who negotiates the contract that prevents it from happening again. The position is fully remote, so you'll need to be comfortable managing priorities independently while staying tightly connected to teams in finance, logistics, and marketing. Most of your work happens asynchronously, but expect regular video check-ins and the occasional trip for supplier visits or industry events.

Your day-to-day

  • Build and refine procurement strategies that match company goals, using supplier and market analysis to find cost savings and efficiency gains
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers, holding them to agreed standards on quality, cost, and delivery
  • Track supplier performance against key metrics and step in with corrective plans when something's off track
  • Onboard new vendors to diversify the supplier base and reduce single-source risk
  • Work with the e-commerce team so procurement timelines match what's happening on the storefront — accurate listings, no surprise availability gaps
  • Coordinate with inventory teams to keep stock levels balanced, applying just-in-time practices where they make sense
  • Lead and support a small remote procurement team, setting clear expectations and removing blockers
  • Monitor budgets, report on cost savings, and flag risks — geopolitical, logistical, or supplier-related — before they become problems
  • Maintain accurate procurement records for audit and compliance purposes

What you bring to the table

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement). Experience: a minimum of 5 years in procurement, supply chain management, or a closely related field, including some time managing others or leading projects.
  • Solid working knowledge of procurement processes, vendor negotiation, and contract management
  • Comfort with procurement software and e-commerce platforms — you don't need to be an engineer, but you should be able to navigate the tools without hand-holding
  • Experience using data analysis to guide sourcing or inventory decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication, especially for a remote, cross-functional setting
  • Sharp organizational skills and the judgment to prioritize when several things need attention at once

Nice-to-haves

  • A relevant certification such as CIPS or CPSM
  • Prior experience procuring for an online retail or direct-to-consumer brand
  • Familiarity with automation tools that streamline purchasing workflows
  • Exposure to international sourcing or multi-region supplier networks

Compensation and what you'll get

This role pays an annual salary of $65,000, plus performance-based bonuses tied to procurement savings and efficiency targets. Roles like this are easy to find listed on Naukri Mitra alongside similar remote operations positions, but here's what specifically comes with this one:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Retirement savings plan with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Budget and support for professional development, including certification costs
  • Full remote flexibility — work from wherever you're most productive

How this team works together

You won't be operating in a silo. Procurement decisions here get made in conversation with finance (on budget), marketing (on launch timing), and logistics (on delivery realities) — so the people who thrive in this role tend to be as comfortable explaining a sourcing tradeoff to a non-procurement colleague as they are negotiating with a vendor. We'd rather you ask a clarifying question early than guess and course-correct later.

Ready to apply?

If you've got the procurement chops and enjoy untangling operational problems before they become customer-facing ones, we'd like to hear from you. Submit your resume along with a short note on a time you improved a procurement process or supplier relationship — specifics help us understand how you think.
