Every banner ad, every programmatic placement, every retargeting pixel β someone has to decide where that money goes and whether it's actually working. That's the job. We're looking for an
Online Display Media Buyer who can plan a campaign, place it smartly, and know within days whether it needs to change course.
This is a remote role open to candidates anywhere. You'll be trusted to run your own campaigns, manage a real budget, and speak up when something isn't performing the way it should.
What you'll be doing
You'll plan and launch display campaigns across the Google Display Network, programmatic exchanges, social platforms, and direct publisher deals. That means research up front β figuring out which platforms and formats actually reach the right audience β and close attention afterward, since a campaign that looks fine on day one can quietly underperform by day ten if nobody's watching.
You'll also negotiate directly with vendors and publishers, work with the creative team on ad assets that actually convert, and keep budgets on track without needing constant reminders from finance.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage display media buying strategy in line with broader marketing goals
- Research platforms, formats, and targeting options for each new campaign
- Set and track KPIs β impressions, CTR, conversions, ROAS
- Execute buys across the Google Display Network, programmatic exchanges, and social platforms
- Negotiate rates and placements with ad networks, publishers, and technology vendors
- Run A/B tests on creative, formats, and targeting to find what actually works
- Adjust live campaigns based on performance data rather than waiting for a post-mortem
- Manage and report on media budgets, flagging overspend or underdelivery early
- Build performance reports and walk stakeholders through what the numbers mean
- Keep campaigns compliant with data privacy rules and brand safety standards
What you'll need
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement).
Experience:
3 years minimum in digital media buying, with a focus on display advertising specifically.
- A real track record of running display campaigns that hit ROI targets, not just impressions
- Solid understanding of programmatic buying and the Google Display Network
- Hands-on experience with DSPs and ad servers β you should already know your way around the tools
- Strong analytical instincts; you should be comfortable pulling insight from raw performance data
- Confident negotiation skills for vendor and publisher deals
- The discipline to manage several live campaigns at once without losing track of any of them
Good to have
- Familiarity with connected TV, native advertising, or retail media placements
- Experience buying media across international markets
- A certification in programmatic or digital advertising
- Background working directly with in-house creative teams on ad development
Compensation and perks
This role pays an annual salary of $60,000, with performance-based bonuses. You'll also get:
- Flexible working hours in a fully remote setup
- Access to current media buying tools and technology, not outdated software
- Ongoing support for professional growth, including training and conferences
- A team that actually shares knowledge instead of hoarding it

Who you'll work with
You won't be buying media in isolation. Creative will need your input on what's actually converting; analytics will help you validate what the raw numbers are telling you; and senior management will expect clear, honest reportingβnot spin. If you'd rather work quietly in a spreadsheet than explain your reasoning to a room, this role will feel like a stretch.
How to apply
Send your resume along with a short cover letter describing a display campaign you managed and the results it delivered. Specific numbers help β we'd rather see one real campaign broken down clearly than a general summary of your experience.
