As a Marine Technician, you will work hands-on with engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components. Your ability to troubleshoot issues and provide timely solutions will keep marine vessels operational. You will also collaborate with engineers, vessel operators, and other technical personnel to ensure all systems meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

⚙️ Maintenance & Repairs

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of marine engines, propulsion systems, and onboard mechanical components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including lubrication, cooling system checks, and fuel system assessments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues by diagnosing faults and replacing defective parts.
• Identify and repair malfunctions in onboard electrical systems, including control panels, navigation lighting, and communication devices.
• Overhaul and service engines, hydraulic systems, and gear mechanisms to enhance performance and longevity.
• Install, configure, and upgrade marine equipment such as propulsion systems, fuel management units, and navigational instruments.
• Maintained and troubleshot marine power generators, alternators, and battery management systems.
• Conduct repairs on refrigeration and climate control systems installed on vessels.

Compliance & Safety

• Perform detailed safety assessments to verify compliance with industry regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Adhere to established safety protocols to ensure the well-being of personnel and the integrity of marine ecosystems.
• Identify potential hazards and implement solutions to reduce the risk of equipment failures.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and industry best practices when performing maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain organized records of service activities, including inspections, modifications, and parts used.
• Keep up to date with advancements in marine technology, safety regulations, and operational standards.

Teamwork & Documentation

• Work collaboratively with engineers, vessel operators, and other technicians to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including inventory logs for spare parts.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring they develop technical skills.
• Communicate clearly with clients and vessel operators to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
• Participate in professional development programs to enhance expertise in marine technology and repairs.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Education

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Marine Technician, Marine Engineer, or similar role.
• Education: Associate degree or certification in marine mechanics, marine engineering, or a preferred discipline.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in troubleshooting marine engines, including diesel and outboard models.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, electrical circuits, and propulsion mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools and repair equipment for marine systems.
• Ability to interpret technical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings.
• Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and machining processes in marine applications.
