System Administrator

Responsibilities:

1. Network Administration: You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring network security will be key aspects of this role.
2. Server Management: Managing and maintaining server hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and regular updates. This involves ensuring high performance, availability, and security levels for all servers within our environment.
3. User Support: Providing technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with software installations and updates, and resolving connectivity issues. You will be the first point of contact for all IT-related queries and concerns.
4. Data Backup and Recovery: Implementing and managing data backup solutions to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data. Developing and testing disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime during system failures or data loss.
5. Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect our systems and data from cyber threats. This includes monitoring for security breaches, conducting regular security audits, and implementing the best data protection and compliance practices.
6. Documentation and Training: Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and training for other team members. Providing training and guidance to end-users on best practices for using IT systems effectively and securely.
7. System Optimization: Identifying opportunities for system optimization and performance improvement through regular monitoring and analyzing system metrics and implementing solutions to enhance system efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux server environments, including experience with server installation, configuration, and administration. Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively, using a logical and systematic approach. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for identifying root causes and implementing timely solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users and collaborate with team members across different departments.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, sharing knowledge and expertise with other team members to achieve common goals. Willingness to assist others and contribute to a positive work culture is essential.
• Certifications: Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
