System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the day-to-day operation of our IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and other critical components. Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability to support business operations.
2. System Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance activities such as patching, updates, and upgrades to keep systems current and secure. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
3. Security Enhancement: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. Monitor systems for security breaches and proactively address vulnerabilities to mitigate risks.
4. Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data integrity and minimize data loss in the event of system failures or disasters. Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to ensure reliability.
5. User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical queries, and assisting with system configurations. Offer training and guidance to users to enhance their IT literacy and productivity.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance adherence for management review.
7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and cybersecurity specialists, to implement IT projects and initiatives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, or RHCE are advantageous.
• Experience: Prior experience in system administration or a related role is preferred for experienced candidates. Fresher candidates with a strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and server hardware. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. Ability to convey technical information clearly and understandably.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies, business requirements, and organizational priorities. Willingness to acquire new skills and certifications to stay updated in the field.
