Key Responsibilities

Perform Hands-On Accessibility Audits

  • Use industry-standard tools like Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, and screen readers to review websites.
  • Conduct manual tests to assess usability for individuals with varying needs, identifying areas for improvement based on WCAG and ADA benchmarks.

Build Better Design Practices

  • Collaborate with design teams to embed accessibility into every phaseโ€”from wireframes to final build.
  • Offer feedback on color contrast, HTML semantics, keyboard navigation, ARIA labeling, and user interface clarity.

Serve as a Strategic Partner

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to integrate inclusive design principles into comprehensive product strategies.
  • Help create scalable accessibility policies that teams can follow with confidence.

Educate and Inspire Teams

  • Host training sessions and hands-on workshops that raise awareness and drive behavior change.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for team members, learning the importance of accessible development.

Guide Remediation Efforts

  • Partner with engineers to resolve flagged issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all fixes align with user expectations and evolving legal standards.

Tools & Tech in Your Toolbox

Your remote setup will include a robust mix of modern tools and platforms to support your day-to-day work:

  • Testing Tools: Axe DevTools, WAVE, Lighthouse, Tenon, Siteimprove
  • Assistive Tech: VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA, TalkBack
  • Tech Stack Exposure: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular (for review purposes)
  • Team Tools: Slack, Jira, Confluence, Zoom

What You Bring

Your Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience conducting accessibility reviews and guiding improvements.
  • In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.1 guidelines and familiarity with updates like WCAG 2.2.
  • Comfort with regulations such as ADA, Section 508, and EN 301 549.
  • Background working directly with or testing on assistive technologies.
  • Strong understanding of HTML structure, ARIA roles, and common front-end frameworks.
