About the Role
This role goes beyond typical recruiting. You’ll serve as an advocate, coach, and connector, matching exceptional veteran talent with employers seeking integrity, leadership, and technical skill. You will use your experience in military or veteran-focused recruiting to lead with empathy, strategy, and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Source, screen, and match veteran and transitioning military candidates for diverse remote and in-office roles across industries
- Build strategic partnerships with veteran service organizations, military installations, and transition assistance programs.
- Guide candidates through resume development, interview coaching, and role alignment for career success
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and promote veteran hiring goals.
- Use recruitment platforms, job boards, and social media to expand reach and improve engagement.
- Maintain accurate candidate data in ATS while respecting candidate privacy and military experience.
Experience Optimization
- Deliver a white-glove candidate experience marked by respect, support, and clarity.
- Analyze recruitment metrics to refine strategies and increase veteran placement outcomes.

Tools and Technology
You’ll use modern recruiting systems and veteran outreach platforms to maximize impact:
- Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., Greenhouse, Workable)
- Military skills, translators, and resume mapping tools
- LinkedIn Recruiter, HireMilitary, and other talent communities
- Internal CRM systems to track engagement and hiring pipelines
- Virtual interview platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
- Online collaboration tools, including project boards, real-time messaging, and cloud suites
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in veteran recruiting, military outreach, or talent acquisition
- Deep understanding of military job codes, transition processes, and civilian translation of military experience
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coach, inspire, and support candidates from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with federal compliance in veteran hiring (e.g., VEVRAA, OFCCP regulations)
- Strong sense of initiative with the discipline to manage goals without constant supervision
- Comfortable with technology and able to learn emerging platforms with ease
- Prior military service or direct experience recruiting for veterans is strongly preferred
