Remote STEM Curriculum Specialist

Description

Remote STEM Curriculum Specialist

Transforming STEM Education for the Future

Can you design learning journeys that spark a studentโ€™s sense of wonder? We believe that every lesson is an opportunity to ignite curiosity, connect real-world breakthroughs to classroom moments, and leave a lasting impact on how learners approach science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. As a STEM Curriculum Specialist working remotely, youโ€™ll architect experiences that empower educators and learners alikeโ€”while shaping the next evolution of digital education.

Why This Role Matters

STEM is the foundation for tomorrowโ€™s innovation, but itโ€™s not just about equations or code. Itโ€™s about helping students make connections, understand big ideas, and confidently tackle challenges that donโ€™t have a definitive answer. In this fully remote role, your work will have a direct impact on classrooms worldwide, providing teachers with dynamic resources while inspiring students to envision themselves as future inventors, critical thinkers, and visionary changemakers.

Your Core Contributions

Imagine a studentโ€™s โ€œahaโ€ moment after wrestling with a challenging concept. Youโ€™ll design those moments, building modular curriculum maps and digital learning resources that turn abstract principles into relatable, hands-on learning. Working closely with instructional designers and education technologists, your insights will steer everything from core lesson structure to the latest interactive tools.

  • Develop, revise, and elevate STEM curriculum across K-12 and early college, using data from classroom pilots to refine and iterate resources.
  • Youโ€™ll break down complex topicsโ€”like computational thinking or data analysisโ€”into clear, engaging activities and project-based units that make learning stick.
  • Your collaborative style brings together teachers, subject matter experts, and technologists, ensuring that every lesson meets real classroom needs and aligns with national and international standards.
  • Conduct in-depth needs assessments through surveys, one-on-one teacher interviews, and hands-on classroom trials, then translate that feedback into curriculum improvements that make an immediate impact.
  • Create scaffolding and differentiated resources so every learner can progress, regardless of starting point or learning style.
  • Infuse digital literacy, critical thinking, and future-focused skills into every unit, preparing students not just for tests but for a rapidly changing world.

Who Thrives Here

Youโ€™re energized by the challenge of making STEM meaningful and accessible for all. Maybe youโ€™ve taught in a blended or virtual setting, or youโ€™ve coached educators through shifts to remote instruction. You understand the nuances of instructional designโ€”balancing big-picture learning outcomes with day-to-day engagement and interaction. More than anything, you see every curriculum as a living document, open to continuous feedback and always ready to evolve.

You simplify complex ideasโ€”whether itโ€™s over Zoom or Slack. You ask the questions that reveal whatโ€™s missing, then prototype solutions. Youโ€™re comfortable sharing drafts, taking critiques, and iterating until itโ€™s just right.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Deep expertise in at least one STEM field (mathematics, science, technology, or engineering), with a passion for integrating them all.
  • Experience designing and implementing standards-aligned curriculumโ€”bonus points for work with NGSS, Common Core, or IB.
  • Fluency in digital tools for remote curriculum creationโ€”Google Workspace, Notion, Miro, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to analyze feedback, assess learning data, and pivot resources for greater impact.
  • Youโ€™re always searching for new approachesโ€”whether itโ€™s embedding coding into biology units or integrating design thinking across STEM disciplines.
  • Skilled at remote collaboration, youโ€™ll partner with instructional coaches, tech leads, and classroom teachers to create resources teachers love and students remember.

Tools, Technology, and Collaboration

Our team thrives in a flexible, remote-first environment. You'll use collaborative curriculum platforms and content management systems on a daily basis. Whether youโ€™re whiteboarding ideas in Miro or analyzing pilot data in Google Sheets, youโ€™ll always have the right tools at your fingertips.

  • Our remote collaboration stack includes Google Drive, Zoom, Slack, and digital curriculum authoring tools.
  • Youโ€™ll use data visualization and learning analytics platforms to evaluate resource effectiveness and drive ongoing improvements.
  • Feedback loops are rapid and intentionalโ€”expect to share, revise, and launch updates in real time.
  • Our team celebrates learning from experimentationโ€”if something doesnโ€™t work, we talk about it, adapt, and keep moving forward.

The Work Environment You Can Expect

We move quickly, but youโ€™ll always have space to focus intensely. Project timelines are ambitious but realisticโ€”reflecting our belief that quality curriculum canโ€™t be rushed. Our remote culture values clear communication, transparency, and the flexibility to work when and where youโ€™re at your best.

Mentorship and growth matter to us. Youโ€™ll have access to regular peer review, professional development stipends, and the support to experiment with new instructional models or emerging edtech.

Outcomes That Matter

Your curriculum will shape how thousands of students understand the worldโ€”and their place in it. Teachers will rely on your resources to create dynamic learning environments, whether theyโ€™re in-person, hybrid, or entirely online. Youโ€™ll help build a library of engaging, relevant, and equity-focused content that makes STEM accessible for all.

Youโ€™ll also measure your success by student engagement, teacher feedback, and the tangible growth of STEM competencies across diverse classrooms. Every data point, anecdote, and classroom story contributes to the ongoing improvement process.

Growth and Impact

If youโ€™re driven by purpose, motivated to leave a mark on education, and excited to solve challenges that truly matter, this is your moment. The worldโ€™s future innovators are already in todayโ€™s classroomsโ€”they need the right tools and opportunities to shine. As a STEM Curriculum Specialist, youโ€™ll play a pivotal role in making that happen.

Annual salary: $50,000.
