Key Responsibilities

Develop and Customize Squarespace Websites

• Build responsive, cross-browser-compatible websites using Squarespace templates and custom code injections.
• Tailor site structures, navigation, and layout to align with project goals and enhance user experience.
• Implement advanced features using Squarespace Developer Mode, custom CSS, JavaScript, and third-party integrations.

Optimize Performance and SEO

• Ensure sites are optimized for mobile-first performance and aligned with best practices for on-page SEO.
• Set up meta tags, schema markup, image compression, and accessible content structures to support organic visibility.
• Audit and refine website performance using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

• Work closely with graphic designers, brand strategists, and content creators to bring digital visions to life.
• Participate in agile sprint planning, share progress in regular stand-ups, and adapt to evolving priorities.
• Offer thoughtful input on UI/UX decisions and maintain clear communication across time zones.

Implement Dynamic Web Solutions

• Integrate client-requested features such as blogs, booking systems, forms, ecommerce capabilities, and embedded media.
• Leverage APIs and embed tools like Calendly, Mailchimp, Google Maps, or Stripe to elevate site functionality.
• Monitor ongoing site analytics and suggest improvements based on insights into visitor behavior.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing websites using Squarespace
• Proven understanding of Squarespace Developer Mode and code customization
• Ability to write clean, semantic, maintainable code across front-end technologies
• Strong grasp of UX principles, responsive design, and website accessibility
• Experience with optimizing web content for SEO and speed performance
• Comfort working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in graphic or visual design
• Experience working with e-commerce solutions on Squarespace
