Remote Performance Test Engineer
Description
Remote Performance Test Engineer
Join a Team That Makes Performance Matter
Are you passionate about engineering digital experiences that run seamlessly at scale? As a Remote Performance Test Engineer, you won’t just be testing applications; you'll be optimizing systems that serve millions of users. This is your chance to thrive in an innovation-driven company where performance is not just measured—it's celebrated. We believe that the best engineers thrive when given the space to think, create, and challenge the norm. If you're eager to drive change from wherever you are, we want you on board.
Our Evolution and the Road Ahead
We began as a small collective of performance-driven engineers and dreamers. Over time, we evolved into a tech-forward organization with a global presence and remote-first DNA. Today, we architect robust digital platforms that power everything from real-time commerce engines to data-rich analytics systems. Our growth has always hinged on one truth: speed and stability matter. That’s where you come in. As we expand into more complex digital territories, we’re seeking individuals who can test, tune, and trailblaze.
Your Impact in This Role
Performance Testing Leadership
- Own the performance engineering lifecycle for large-scale distributed systems.
- Design, implement, and execute load testing, stress testing, and endurance tests across platforms
- Define benchmarks that align with product expectations and SLAs
- Provide strategic recommendations to product teams based on profiling and bottleneck data
End-to-End Analysis and Optimization
- Analyze test outcomes with an eye for latency, scalability, and throughput
- Collaborate with DevOps and SREs to understand infrastructure constraints
- Deliver meaningful insights through dashboards and KPI reports
- Contribute to application design by flagging architectural risks early
Collaborative Engineering
- Partner with backend developers to simulate traffic patterns using realistic data
- Coach junior testers and contribute to establishing performance testing best practices
- Participate in agile ceremonies and translate requirements into actionable test plans.
Your Future Work Environment
In this fully remote position, your desk could be in the mountains or by the sea—we care about results, not location. Our asynchronous workflow empowers self-starters, and our communication tools keep everyone aligned across time zones. Here, you’re trusted to manage your own schedule while remaining deeply connected to the mission.
Our remote-first culture values autonomy and mutual respect. Whether you’re brainstorming in Figma, sprint planning in Jira, or reviewing application performance logs in Grafana, you’ll always be part of a unified, outcome-focused team.
Tools You’ll Master
- JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling
- K6.io for cloud-native performance scripting
- New Relic, Datadog, and Grafana for observability
- Postman for API stress simulations
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for continuous performance validation
Skills That Define You
Must-Have Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in performance engineering or related test roles
- Deep familiarity with protocols: HTTP, WebSockets, REST APIs
- Demonstrated ability to interpret JVM/GC metrics, database queries, and service logs
- Proven success in building repeatable test automation scripts
- Hands-on experience in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Bash
Bonus Points For
- Cloud-native testing in AWS/GCP environments
- Background in site reliability engineering or observability tooling
- Familiarity with microservice architecture and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
Growth Beyond the Keyboard
We don’t just want you to test systems; we want you to grow and develop. At our company, engineers are groomed into thought leaders. Whether it’s speaking at virtual conferences, mentoring apprentices, or writing technical blogs, we support your career evolution. Performance testing is a mission-critical role, and your efforts will actively shape the direction of our digital footprint.
This role offers an annual salary of $120,900, along with a comprehensive suite of benefits and numerous opportunities for professional growth and development.
Why This Role Is Different
Unlike traditional QA roles, performance engineering here means joining a squad of problem-solvers who think like system architects. You’ll be involved early in the SDLC, steering how features are designed, not just how they're validated. Your suggestions won’t sit in Jira tickets gathering dust. They’ll influence how we scale.
Expect challenges that push your thinking: Should we optimize for CPU load or response time? Do we autoscale based on memory metrics or user concurrency? You'll get to shape the answers.
Your Next Steps
If this sounds like your kind of mission, don’t sit on the sidelines.
