Remote Math Question Creator

Description

Remote Math Question Creator

Ignite Young Minds—Design Math Challenges That Matter

Do you thrive on transforming abstract concepts into engaging, confidence-building moments for learners? If your creative spark is matched only by your mathematical intuition, you’ll flourish here. As a Remote Math Question Creator, your work will ripple through thousands of digital classrooms, equipping students with the curiosity and skills they’ll use for life. Every question you craft can unlock a new way of seeing the world—let’s create those lightbulb moments together.

Why This Role Matters

Math isn’t just numbers—it’s problem-solving, pattern recognition, and resilience in action. You’ll be the architect of challenges that teach, test, and inspire. By building thoughtfully sequenced questions across a wide range of grade levels, you’ll make learning more accessible and less intimidating. It’s not about simply checking answers; it’s about building bridges for every kind of thinker, whether they’re struggling with fractions or breezing through algebraic reasoning.

What You’ll Do

• Design original math questions and multi-step problems, weaving real-world scenarios into concepts like number sense, geometry, algebra, and data interpretation.

• Sequence questions for maximum understanding—building scaffolding, not stumbling blocks. Your attention to how students progress will shape their confidence and retention.

• Revise and adapt questions based on educator feedback, learning platform analytics, and student outcomes. When one approach isn’t connecting, you’ll pivot and create something even better.

• Integrate digital tools—such as interactive graphs, dynamic illustrations, or LaTeX formatting—to elevate clarity and visual engagement.

• Collaborate with content editors and curriculum designers in an environment where every voice contributes to shaping what students experience. You’ll exchange insights via Slack, Asana, and Zoom, supporting each other to reach shared goals.

• Maintain a keen awareness of age-appropriate language, cognitive development, and the unique challenges faced by learners in remote environments.

Your Approach & Impact

Your questions will be designed not only for assessment but also to spark growth and development. You know the difference between asking, “What is 8 x 7?” and “If two friends split 56 marbles evenly, how many does each get?” Your ability to put yourself in a student’s shoes—and then create questions that are neither too easy nor too daunting—sets you apart.

You simplify complex ideas—whether it’s over Zoom, a Loom walkthrough, or a written explanation. Every question, hint, or explanation you write will have a clear purpose: empowering learners to make connections and feel genuine progress. When teachers share their classroom wins or request tweaks, you’re quick to respond, valuing both the big picture and the smallest detail.

Tools & Technologies

You’ll work in Google Docs for drafting, harness Notion for question banks, and visualize concepts with Desmos or GeoGebra. LaTeX and digital whiteboarding tools help you render mathematical notation with precision. Our workflow thrives on transparency and real-time feedback, and you’ll always have space to focus intensely.

Who You Are

Curiosity, patience, and creativity drive you. You love finding new ways to represent the same concept, especially if it means one more student has an “aha!” moment. You have a background in mathematics, math education, or a closely related field, and you’re comfortable explaining both foundational and advanced topics. Maybe you’ve taught, tutored, or designed learning materials before. What matters most is that you care about students’ journeys and can adapt your questions to different learning levels.

Must-Haves

• Deep familiarity with elementary through high school math concepts, standards, and question types.
• Ability to write in a concise, conversational tone that demystifies math for any learner.
• Strong digital literacy—comfortable using collaborative tools and quick to learn new ones.
• Commitment to accuracy and originality—every question is 100% your own work.
• Openness to iterative feedback and rapid improvement cycles.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with adaptive learning technologies or assessment platforms.
• Prior curriculum development, remote teaching, or tutoring experience.
• Graphic design chops—visualizing word problems or math puzzles in new ways.

Work Environment & Benefits

You’ll set your own hours and work from anywhere, joining a mission-driven, globally connected team. Regular feedback sessions mean your growth never stalls, and you’ll see the direct impact of your creativity in the improved confidence and achievement of learners. All the resources and mentorship you need are just a Slack message away. The compensation for this position is $46,638 per year, with opportunities for advancement as your contributions grow.
