Core Responsibilities

Systems Administration

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux-based systems in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Implement and enforce enterprise-grade cybersecurity measures, backup protocols, and recovery strategies.
  • Proactively address system alerts, performance bottlenecks, and vulnerabilities before they affect operations.

Infrastructure Optimization

  • Lead capacity planning, system upgrades, and patch management to ensure optimal infrastructure health.
  • Evaluate and implement infrastructure-as-code strategies for consistent deployments.
  • Streamline resource provisioning with automation scripts and container-based technologies.

Network & Access Management

  • Manage VPNs, firewalls, DNS configurations, and secure access layers across distributed teams.
  • Oversee role-based access controls (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication integrations.
  • Monitor network traffic and usage trends to forecast scaling needs and reduce latency.

Technical Support & Collaboration

  • Act as the final escalation level for complex technical issues across departments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, IT Security, and cloud infrastructure teams to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation and change management logs.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Skills

  • At least five years of hands-on involvement in managing IT systems, with exposure to both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong background in cloud systems administration (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
  • Expertise in automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python preferred).
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, and DNS.
  • Proficient in IT security best practices and systems hardening techniques.
  • Experience with backup solutions, DR planning, and uptime SLAs.

Preferred Attributes

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or AWS SysOps Admin.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps concepts and compliance frameworks like SOC2 or ISO 27001.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for analyzing logs, system behaviors, and metrics.
