Remote Instructional Designer Jobs in the USA

About the Role

Ready to reimagine the way knowledge is shared in a digital-first world? This fully remote Instructional Designer role offers you the opportunity to transform complex content into engaging e-learning experiences. We're not looking for someone to merely "build courses"; we want a visionary who thrives at the intersection of design, education, and technology. If you know how to make people care about what they're learning, and you dream of innovating in online education, this is your moment.

Our Story

From humble beginnings in a shared workspace to becoming a distributed team of creative technologists across the U.S., our company has always believed in the transformative power of education. Our culture is fueled by curiosity, guided by empathy, and powered by a remote-first model that embraces flexibility and autonomy. Every course we create, every module we design, is rooted in our mission: to make digital learning human-centered, meaningful, and deeply engaging.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing

Designing Engaging Learning Experiences

  • Develop storyboards, learning pathways, and interactive content that makes learners want to keep clicking.
  • Collaborate with knowledge holders to transform complex information into digestible formats.
  • Utilize instructional design models, such as ADDIE, SAM, and Bloomโ€™s Taxonomy, to ensure both structure and spark.
  • Craft assessments that assess learning, not just memorization.

Collaborating Across Teams

  • Partner with curriculum strategists, media producers, and UX designers to bring each learning vision to life.
  • Contribute creative direction in team meetings where ideas bounce, ping, and flourish.
  • Review analytics and learner feedback to iterate and improve the learning experience continually.

Elevating Digital Learning Standards

  • Champion accessibility and inclusivity in all materials.
  • Stay current with trends in instructional technology, multimedia tools, and remote teaching methodologies.
  • Recommend new platforms, tools, and delivery methods to keep our approach fresh and relevant.

Tools & Technologies You'll Use

You won't be alone in this journey. Youโ€™ll work with some of the most potent tools in instructional design:

  • Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition)
  • Camtasia for screen recording and video editing
  • Figma or Canva for design mockups
  • LMS Platforms like Moodle, TalentLMS, or LearnUpon
  • Project Management Tools like Asana, Trello, or ClickUp

The Remote Work Environment

Weโ€™re a remote-native team that thrives in asynchronous communication, but loves an occasional virtual jam session. You'll have the freedom to work from anywhere in the U.S. while being supported by a collaborative network of creatives, developers, and educators. Weekly stand-ups, team retrospectives, and ideation sprints help keep us aligned and energized.

We encourage you to craft your workflow. Whether you're most productive in the morning with a cold brew or at night with lo-fi beats, you set your rhythm. We believe brilliant work doesnโ€™t come from strict hoursโ€”it comes from creative minds empowered to work their way.
