Position Overview: As a Lab Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our laboratory operations, assisting in various scientific experiments, analyses, and research projects. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting tests, recording data, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting Tests: Execute a wide range of laboratory tests and experiments according to established protocols and procedures. This may involve biological, chemical, or physical analyses, depending on the nature of the research or investigation.
- Data Recording: Accurately document all experimental procedures, observations, and results in electronic or paper-based laboratory notebooks. Maintain detailed records to ensure traceability and reproducibility of findings.
- Equipment Maintenance: Take responsibility for the proper maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of laboratory equipment and instruments. Report any malfunctions or deviations from standard performance to the appropriate personnel.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to strict quality control measures to ensure the reliability and validity of laboratory data. Follow standardized protocols for sample handling, storage, and disposal to prevent contamination and maintain integrity.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with fellow laboratory staff, scientists, and researchers to facilitate the smooth operation of experiments and projects. Communicate effectively to exchange information, troubleshoot issues, and achieve common objectives.
- Safety Compliance: Comply with all safety regulations and protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Adhere to proper handling procedures for hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing experimental procedures, results, and conclusions. Present findings to supervisors or team members as required, contributing valuable insights to ongoing research efforts.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Microbiology. Additional certifications or specialized training may be advantageous.
- Experience: While prior experience is preferred, we welcome applications from both fresher and experienced candidates. Relevant laboratory experience or internships will be considered an asset.
