Remote Storyboard Illustrator

Description

Remote Storyboard Illustrator

Introduction

Do you thrive on crafting compelling visual narratives that move people? We’re looking for a Remote Storyboard Illustrator to join our production team. You’ll turn concepts into powerful visual sequences that guide animations, digital ads, educational modules, and branded multimedia storytelling. Our ideal candidate understands cinematic timing, emotional expression, and narrative clarity. This position pays $72,499 annually and offers the flexibility of working from anywhere in a collaborative, inclusive environment built on mutual respect, shared creativity, and purpose-driven communication.

We value illustrators who think visually but also strategically—those who don’t just draw what’s written, but help shape the story through design and sequence. You’ll contribute to projects across industries, including healthcare, tech, gaming, advertising, and entertainment. Whether sketching characters in action, mapping out transitions, or suggesting ways to heighten emotional beats, your contributions will directly shape the impact and clarity of each project’s final narrative.

What You’ll Be Doing

Conceptual Development

  • Partner with writers, directors, and content strategists to map out clear visual storytelling strategies for scripts and narratives.
  • Offer creative input during early concept meetings, helping define tone, pacing, and visual storytelling mechanics.
  • Translate abstract ideas into concrete scene plans that elevate story objectives and creative direction.

Storyboarding & Visualization

  • Develop detailed, sequential art panels that reflect camera angles, scene movement, and character expression.
  • Sketch out motion arcs, transitional effects, and mood shifts that guide animators and editors in post-production.
  • Ensure continuity in scenes, maintaining thematic consistency and visual logic.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Participate in virtual story meetings, brainstorming sessions, and visual critique workshops.
  • Work closely with remote team members to align on art direction, deadlines, and client feedback.
  • Receive and implement creative direction while proposing alternatives when appropriate.

Refinement & Finalization

  • Clean up drafts into clear, production-ready boards that include timing cues, camera notes, and brief descriptive text.
  • Properly label, organize, and archive storyboards using streamlined naming conventions.
  • Submit layered files that make collaboration easier for motion designers, producers, and post-production artists.
