Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispensing Medications: As a Pharmacist, your primary responsibility will be to accurately dispense prescription medications to patients based on physician orders. You'll need to carefully review prescriptions to ensure the correctness and appropriateness of medication, dosage, and instructions for use.
2. Patient Consultation: Provide valuable medication counseling and education to patients regarding proper usage, potential side effects, and precautions associated with their prescribed medications. Answer any questions or concerns patients may have regarding their treatment.
3. Medication Management: Maintain proper inventory levels of medications and pharmaceutical supplies, monitoring expiration dates and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
4. Compounding: Prepare specialized medications such as intravenous admixtures, ointments, and other compounded formulations as per physician orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
5. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity, potency, and safety of dispensed medications. Participate in medication error prevention initiatives and adverse drug reaction reporting as necessary.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with state and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy, including DEA regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and state pharmacy laws. Adhere strictly to all legal and ethical standards.
7. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering positive relationships with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid state pharmacist license in good standing.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and pharmacology principles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with diverse patient populations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing and record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
